Our Friendly Village School

Mark

I really like my school because it is not too big. The staff here remember who every single child is, from the little kids to the teenagers. It feels like a big family! Some of my friends eat in the canteen, but I usually walk home for lunch because my house is very close. When the bell rings at three o’clock to end the day, we don’t leave straight away. We always stay outside to have fun with sports like football on the grass. We never feel lonely here.

Nina

Our village school has a wonderful feeling. Because the classes aren’t huge, I am never afraid to speak up if I don’t understand the lesson. The teachers give us great advice, but they are very busy so they don’t usually chat with us after school. One thing I love is how kind everyone is. The teenagers always assist the little boys and girls if they have a problem in the playground. We also have a lovely library where I enjoy reading alone during the morning break.

Leo

What makes our school special is that there are only twelve of us in my group, which is brilliant for learning. Sitting together in the dining hall to eat our sandwiches is my favourite part of the day. We talk and laugh a lot then. We sometimes play board games when it rains at break time, but I usually just go straight home after my final class. Every summer, our headteacher plans special journeys by bus for the whole school to visit places like the beach. It’s always amazing!
