Teenagers on a skiing holiday

Liam

I just came back from a brilliant week in the mountains. I didn’t go with my family this time; instead, I went with my teachers and other students from my school. It was my first time in the snow, but I wasn’t afraid at all! I thought going down the hills was actually quite easy. The only thing I disliked was getting dressed for the cold. Our jackets and boots were so heavy that it was difficult to move around in them. I wanted to take photos of everyone, but I left my mobile in my room every day because I didn’t want to lose it in the snow!

Noah

My parents booked a fantastic trip to a ski resort for my birthday. I’ve never tried winter sports in my life, so I was really worried on the first morning. I thought I was going to fall and hurt my leg! Luckily, our instructor was very kind. I didn’t try snowboarding or anything else because I wanted to practice my skiing every single day. When we were at the top of the mountain, the views were amazing. I took out my phone and got some great pictures of the white trees and blue sky. After dinner, I was always too tired to play games, so I just slept!

Emma

I love the mountains in winter! Because I had some lessons last year, I remembered exactly what to do on the snow. I felt very fast and safe. After three days, I decided I wanted to try something new, so I rented a snowboard for the afternoon. It was very different but lots of fun. My mum bought me a new jacket for the trip, and it was so warm and comfortable. However, my favorite time was actually after we finished eating at night. My brother and I sat by the warm fire and played board games together until midnight.

Volunteering on a Farm

Ben

I spent a week volunteering at a farm with my classmates. We didn’t go with our parents, but our teachers were there to help us. The hardest part was the mornings. We woke up at five o’clock every day, long before the sun came up! My main job was carrying large buckets of water for the cows. By the afternoon, my arms and legs always ached, and I had absolutely no energy left to play games. Even though I loved the trip, I definitely don’t want to become a farmer in the future. I want to work in an office where I can sit down!

Lily

For my holiday, I travelled to a beautiful farm with my aunt and uncle. It was amazing to share the experience with my family. I did many different jobs, but my favourite was taking care of the sheep. The farmer showed me exactly how to give warm milk to the little lambs from a bottle. I also had to sweep the floors inside the dark animal houses. Honestly, I enjoyed being out in the open fields much more! The horses were huge, but I was never scared of them. They were so friendly and gentle.

Marco

I volunteered at an animal rescue farm this summer. Luckily, our daily tasks began at nine o’clock, so I didn’t need to leave my bed while it was still dark. The work was actually quite easy and relaxing, mostly just brushing the animals. When I first saw the pigs, I was really frightened because they were so huge and loud! But after a few days, I saw that they were very sweet. Spending time with all these amazing creatures helped me choose my perfect career. I want to be an animal doctor after I finish university!

Relaxing on a Cruise Ship

Alex

I went on this cruise with just my best friend. I usually spend all my time checking maps on trips, but this time I just rested. The best part of the ship was the huge dining room. I tried some hot and spicy chicken, and all the dishes were completely delicious! I also spent hours using my new small camera. I filmed the beautiful blue water and the flying seabirds every single afternoon. My friend went to the indoor theatre to watch actors on stage, but I preferred being out in the fresh air.

Bella

Before getting on the big ship, I was really nervous that my stomach would feel terrible on the water. Luckily, it was a very smooth and comfortable ride. I loved this holiday because the ship’s staff prepared a daily paper with all the fun events. I didn’t have to think about what to do next! I left my phone in my room, so I didn’t record any videos. My absolute favourite activity was sitting by the pool after the sun went down. We sat under the stars and looked at huge screens showing famous movies.

Carlos

This was my first time on a big ship. I didn’t go with just my parents; twelve of my aunts, uncles, and cousins came along too! We had a brilliant time playing sports on the top deck. Even though I was with so many people I already knew, I still started chatting with a teenager from Spain by the swimming pool. We played table tennis together every day and we are still good mates now. The food was just okay, and I was always too tired to watch any television at night.
