The Strange New Crisp Flavour
Harry
I saw the new ‘Mystery Mix’ potato crisps in the supermarket and decided to try them. I am a fan of simple things like plain salt or cheese, so this was very different for me. When I sat down to watch TV, I gave a few to my mom and dad to try. We all agreed the taste was very strange. After just three crisps, my tongue was burning! There was definitely too much chili powder on them. My dad had to drink a large glass of water. I won’t get them again!
Maya
I usually love trying new snacks, so I bought these strange new crisps yesterday. As soon as I opened the packet, the scent was fantastic, like fresh roast chicken. Because of that, I was really excited to put one in my mouth. But eating them was a terrible experience! They had a dark, bitter taste, like old coffee. I only managed to have about five of them before I put the rest of the bag in the bin. At least my little brother didn’t ask me to share them!
Sam
My friends told me the new crisp flavour was awful and too hot, but I didn’t listen to them. I bought a small packet on my way to school. Surprisingly, they didn’t burn my mouth at all. Instead, it was exactly like eating a slice of cake with sugar and fruit! It is a very weird idea for a potato snack, but I actually really enjoyed it. I finished every single piece in my lunchbox, and I definitely plan to pick up another bag tomorrow afternoon. You should try them!

The Perfect Sweet and Salty Snack
Sam
I know dipping fries into a strawberry milkshake sounds crazy! I first did it at a local burger place when I was ten. My older brother showed me how to do it, and I loved it immediately. He always orders a chocolate drink, but I think that flavour tastes terrible with potatoes. You really need the sweet pink fruit flavour to make it perfect! My friends think I’m strange, but I don’t care. I don’t play any games or run, so I just eat this when I am watching a movie on the sofa at the weekend.
Ruby
I am in my school’s basketball team, and we practice hard every Saturday. When we finish playing, my favourite thing to do is get a strawberry milkshake and a large box of French fries. It is the best way to feel good after running around for an hour! I love taking a hot piece of potato straight from the oven and putting it into the icy drink. The feeling in your mouth is amazing! I don’t add anything extra like salt or ketchup. My mum hates the idea, but I think it is the most wonderful snack in the world.
Tom
When my classmates first told me to put my fries into my strawberry milkshake, I said no. I believed it would taste awful! However, one day I finally tested it, and my mind changed completely. It is actually a brilliant combination. To make it taste even better, I always sprinkle a lot of white salt on my hot food before I put it into the sweet milk. It creates a fantastic flavour. I usually get this from a shop near my house, but I am learning how to make the drinks in my own kitchen now.

Finding a hair in your soup
Anna
I went to a new café last weekend. My sister told me about it. When my bowl arrived, I saw a long, dark hair floating in it! I was so angry. I called the waiter over and showed it to him. He offered to bring me a new bowl, but I just stood up and walked out of the door. The manager ran after me and gave me my cash back, so it didn’t cost me a penny. I will never eat there again!
David
I was at my favourite restaurant on Saturday. I usually get the chicken, but I wanted something hot. After two spoons of my meal, I pulled a hair out of the bowl! I called the waitress. She was very nice and told me how sorry the kitchen team felt. I didn’t want to leave, so I told her I didn’t want soup anymore. Instead, I had a lovely cheese pizza. I still had to pay the bill, but I will definitely return because they were so kind.
Maria
Yesterday, I took my grandfather to a lovely little place in town for his birthday. We both ordered the tomato soup. As I was eating, I noticed a short hair in my food. I knew it wasn’t mine! However, my grandad was having such a wonderful time, and I didn’t want to make him sad or angry. So, I just put my spoon down and kept quiet. I didn’t tell the workers, and I paid the full price at the end. We just went home and made sandwiches later!
