The Night Market

Ben

I love the night market because it is always full of energy. The smoke from the meat cooking smells amazing. It can be very crowded, so Thursdays are the best time to go if you want more space. You can get a lot of chicken and beef on sticks, which are delicious and very sweet, not spicy at all! It is quite loud with everyone talking and laughing, but that makes it fun. After eating, I always look at the other stalls. They sell nice clothes and small presents to take home.

Lily

The grilled meat on sticks here is famous, and I only go there for the meals! Last time, I had pork and vegetables. They put a lot of chili on everything, so my mouth burned a bit, but it was still very tasty. To get your dinner quickly, you should arrive before six o’clock. If you do that, you won’t be stuck behind hundreds of hungry people. I love walking around when the sun goes down. The red lamps and the smoke look beautiful, so I always use my phone to get some great shots for my blog.

Marco

When we went to the night market, there were thousands of visitors. We wanted to try the famous lamb sticks, and we had to wait in a queue for nearly an hour! Next time, I will just go to enjoy the atmosphere. There was a local group with guitars performing near the entrance, and their tunes were fantastic to listen to while we ate. Because it was so busy, I thought the street would be full of empty plates and cups. However, there was no rubbish anywhere. The workers really look after the place.

Making Sushi

Alex

I loved the sushi-making class! I was worried because I am not a good cook. However, the chef spoke very simply and showed us every step, so I never felt lost. I didn’t do anything wrong! The lesson was three hours long, which was the perfect amount of time to learn everything. At the end, we got to keep the rolling mats we used. I am going to buy some fish and rice to prepare this delicious meal for my parents this weekend. They will love it!

Bella

I didn’t buy a ticket for this lesson myself. My older brother paid for it because it was my birthday. I had a lot of fun. There were fifteen people in the room, so sometimes it was hard to hear the chef when he spoke. But we had everything we needed on our tables. The knives and bowls were brand new and of very high quality. I ate all my sushi at the end, and it was fantastic. My family wanted to try some, but there was nothing left for them!

Carlos

I paid for this class with my own pocket money. I was so excited, but it was quite difficult. The lesson was only an hour long, and I felt really hurried. I wish we had another hour to learn everything! When I was making my sushi, I put way too much rice inside, and the seaweed broke. Because of that, my food looked terrible. Also, I used too much salt, so I didn’t enjoy eating it at all. Maybe I need to buy better knives and try again.

When the Food is Gone

Mark

I really love the famous roast chicken at The Green Cow. Last weekend, I drove for two hours just to have it! When I arrived, the waiter told me there was no chicken left. He didn’t even look sad about it! I know I didn’t telephone to get a table before I went, but I was still very unhappy. I stayed and had some nice fish instead, but I think the kitchen needs to make a larger amount of their best food. Everyone wants it!

Lisa

The Golden Spoon is very near my house, so I didn’t have to drive far for my birthday dinner. I phoned weeks ago to save our places because I really wanted their famous chocolate cake. But after our main meal, they said the cake was finished! I was so annoyed because we planned everything so carefully. I chose the fruit salad instead, but it didn’t taste great. I really wish we had just gone to another café for dessert!

David

It was just a normal Tuesday evening, and my friends and I wanted to try the popular cheese pizza at Luigi’s. When we sat down, the man serving us said sorry many times and explained that the pizza was completely gone. I wasn’t angry with him, but we didn’t want to eat anything else on the menu. We walked out and found a burger café down the street instead. Maybe they usually make enough pizza, but they were just too busy that night.
