The Spicy Food Festival

Liam

I really wanted to win the festival’s eating competition. To get ready, I cooked bowls of spicy ramen with extra chili flakes in my kitchen for a whole week! At the festival, the first dish was a huge bowl of fire noodles. I tried my best, but after a few minutes, my mouth hurt too much. I had to stop and left half of my meal in the bowl. My friend finished his, but he didn’t win anything. Next year, I’ll try again!

Sofia

My older brother and I love hot meals, so we signed up for the contest together. They gave us plates of fried chicken covered in red chili powder. I was quite scared at first, but honestly, it wasn’t as burning as I imagined! I ate everything very quickly. We were both so fast that the judges gave us movie tickets to say well done. I saw some people drinking lemonade, but I only needed a little water.

Ethan

The festival was so crowded! I sat down at the table, and they brought out tacos full of fresh jalapeños and lots of hot salsa. It is a famous street food from Mexico, but I had never eaten it before. I took one bite, and my eyes immediately started watering! The heat was incredible. I didn’t stop, though, and I ate every last piece. Afterwards, I had to buy a large apple juice to cool my tongue down! I didn’t get a gift, but it was fun.

Reviews of a New Food App

Minh

I downloaded this new app last night after 11 p.m. because I was studying and felt hungry. The buttons on the screen are very large, so it’s not difficult to choose your meal at all. I decided to get a burger and chips. The delivery fee is quite cheap, and I couldn’t believe it when the driver knocked on my door just twelve minutes later! The food was burning hot and tasted amazing. I usually hate waiting for drivers, but this app is excellent.

Lan

Some classmates came to my house to watch a film on Friday, so we decided to try this app. It looks a bit complex when you open it, but we found a pizza place easily. The map showed the driver moving fast, and the box arrived in fifteen minutes. However, we had a small problem. Instead of the chicken pizza we selected, the driver gave us a beef one. We ate it anyway because we were hungry. Next time, I hope they don’t make mistakes with our dinner.

Phong

I use this app two or three times every week. I love it because you can find many fresh salads and green vegetable dishes that are good for your body. Most other apps only sell unhealthy fast food. The drivers are always careful, and they always send exactly what I ask for. However, it costs a lot of money to bring the food to your house. Because the delivery fee is so high, I only use it when I am too tired to cook myself after school.

A Visit to the Chocolate Factory

Leo

I visited the chocolate factory last weekend. I didn’t go with my school; my mum and dad took me in the car. When we arrived, the guide gave us different cocoa beans to try. I loved all of them, even the dark ones! At the end of the tour, there was a tasting room with every kind of chocolate. I tried so many pieces that my stomach hurt on the way home. We didn’t get anything from the shop because the sweets were quite expensive.

Mia

Our teacher organized a class trip to the chocolate factory. First, we sat in a dark room and looked at a short video showing the hot countries that produce cocoa. After that, a worker explained exactly what they do to change the bitter beans into sweet bars. We tried a few beans, but I didn’t eat too many sweets because I didn’t want to feel sick. Before getting on the bus, I got a nice box of dark chocolate for my grandmother.

Noah

My friends and I took the train to the famous chocolate factory on Saturday. We didn’t watch any movies, but we read lots of interesting posters about cocoa trees. The best part was the tasting session. The guide gave us pure cocoa beans. They were horrible because they weren’t sweet at all! But the milk chocolate we had later was amazing. I bought a large bag just for me. I really hope I can visit this amazing place again next year.
