Evening Skateboarding

Leo

Every evening, I take my board to the park. It is usually full of children, but I don’t mind the noise. I just put my headphones in and play loud pop or rock tracks. It makes me skate faster! I have had the same board for three years, so it looks a bit old now. After about an hour of moving around, my legs get tired. I always stop to sit on the grass and enjoy an apple or some crisps before I go back home.

Sam

Skateboarding is the best way to end the day. I never go to the park until all my maths and reading exercises are completely finished. That way, I can truly relax! I don’t like listening to my phone because I need to hear everything around me. I usually wait until 7 p.m. because most families go home for dinner then. With fewer people there, I have a lot more space to try things. I also love standing by the sides to see what the older boys can do. Their tricks are brilliant!

Finn

I go to the local skatepark every day at 5 p.m. I never complete my homework first; I do it later in the evening when I am tired! Last weekend, I went shopping and spent my birthday cash on a brand new blue skateboard. It rides so smoothly! I don’t like sitting down and watching my friends. I prefer being on my board the whole time. My big sister is actually brilliant at skating, and she comes with me to show me how to stand and jump correctly. I am improving really fast!

A Love for the Theater

Leo

I absolutely love watching live drama! I usually go to the local theater with my older brother. Because I am a student, I save money on my tickets, which is great. Whenever we go, I always choose chairs that are as close to the stage as possible. I want to see everyone’s faces clearly! My friends say I should try being in a play, but I am much too shy for that! I prefer just looking at the amazing stories.

Mia

Every few months, my mother and father’s parents take me to the city to see a show. The tickets there can cost a lot, so we sit at the very back, but I don’t mind! My absolute favorites are the ones with lots of pop songs and moving around; they are much more fun than normal spoken stories. I also love helping at my own school. I am quite good with a needle, so I put together the beautiful dresses and jackets that everyone wears during our shows.

Tom

For me, nothing is better than a good school play. I enjoy watching serious stories, especially since I am terrible at singing! I think the people on stage are great, and my biggest dream is to make acting my actual job when I finish my education. Every time I watch a new play, I go home and type my thoughts on my personal website so other teenagers can read my opinions. I don’t help with the stage design, but I always go to watch my classmates.

Exploring Mountain Trails

Alex

Exploring the mountains is amazing. I only enjoy doing it in winter because I love walking in the snow. Summer is just too hot for me! I don’t go alone; my uncle usually drives us there every Sunday morning. It is a fantastic way to spend time together. He knows the trails very well, so we never get lost. We like to choose quiet paths. It is great because we rarely see anyone else. I already have a great heavy jacket and strong shoes, so I don’t need to spend cash on anything else for our trips.

Ben

I live very close to some famous walking paths, so I can just walk out of my front door to start my trip! My sister hates walking, so I usually go with my school mates. We often walk through the dark trees. My top activity is looking at the beautiful birds and insects that live there. To make sure we stay on the correct road, I always use the digital map on my smartphone. My feet sometimes hurt after a few hours, so I have to find a better pair of boots soon before my next big adventure!

Charlie

I love mountain adventures, but my house is in the middle of a big city. Because of this, I must sit on a bus for over three hours before I can start walking! When I finally arrive, the paths are never quiet. There are always huge groups of tourists taking photos everywhere. Because it is so noisy, the animals hide, and you can never see them. I don’t bring my tablet or phone with me to find my way. Instead, I carry an old paper map in my bag. It works perfectly, and it doesn’t need batteries!
