Young Developers Building AI Apps

Leo

I am building an AI program that writes short stories and helps teenagers who are doing projects for class. If you spell a word wrong, the smart computer changes it to the right letters immediately. I think this will be very popular! However, I can’t write all the code alone. I need to meet another clever student to work on this with me. Some software makers want to sell their work, but I want everyone to download mine for free. At first, it will only work on big laptops, but maybe I will change that later.

Maya

My older sister loves taking photos, but she hates editing them. She gave me the plan for my new AI app. It looks at your pictures and automatically adds cool colors and shapes to them! It isn’t for studying or doing your homework; it is just for fun. I am doing all the programming by myself, so I don’t need anyone else’s help. Because people love taking photos when they are outside, I am making it just for smartphones. You won’t be able to use it on a normal computer.

Tom

I love making videos for the internet, but cutting and fixing long movies is hard work. My new AI software will watch your videos and keep the best parts for you. It will only take a few seconds, so it is very fast! My dad told me it was a bad idea, but my friends love it. It doesn’t correct bad spelling, but it makes amazing movies. Making Video Analysis Software

I have a channel online and I want to know what my viewers like. So, I am making a special app to collect information from other video makers automatically. I am not building it alone; my best mate is doing it with me. We meet every evening after school. For us, typing the instructions for the computer doesn’t take much time at all because we know a lot about software. Some people told me to ask for money when it is ready, but I want to give it to people for free.

Leo

My older brother makes popular videos, and he suggested building a tool to look at other successful channels. I thought it was a brilliant plan! My software looks at famous clips to see exactly how many minutes long they are, and what pictures they use. I work on this project every afternoon in my bedroom. I don’t need anyone to assist me, so I do all the hard work myself. When the app is finally finished, I am going to put it on the internet and earn some pocket money from it!

Maya

Finding out what other video makers are doing is very useful. My program automatically reads the text under hundreds of videos to find the best words to use. At the moment, I am teaching myself a fresh computer language to make the software work better. It is quite difficult, so making the app is a very slow process! I have a busy schedule with my normal homework, so the end of the week is my only chance to sit down and do this. I always show my parents my work, and they love it.

Making a New Voice App

Leo

I am creating a new speaking software by myself. My friends are too busy, so I’m doing all the computer work alone. The idea is to turn written words into spoken words. It is perfect for people who have problems with their eyes and cannot look at books easily. You type a message, and the computer reads it out loud clearly. I don’t want to earn cash from this, so everyone can get it for zero pounds. Right now, it only works on big laptops, but I might change that in the future.

Mia

I am making a voice app with my older brother because he knows a lot about technology. Our program doesn’t read boring documents. Instead, it changes your words to make you talk like a silly monster or a tiny mouse! It is very funny to use when you are playing video games online. The project is almost finished. Because we worked really hard on it, it will cost two pounds to download from the internet. We hope to get enough money to buy a new keyboard. It only understands English at the moment.

Sam

My voice app took more than six months to build. It was a really slow project, but I am very happy with it! It listens to your voice and then speaks back to you with perfect grammar. It is an excellent way to practice your Spanish or German before a big school exam. The voice sounds like a normal, real person, not a funny robot. I wanted students to use it on the bus or train, so I designed it especially to be downloaded onto your mobile.
