Making Time for Everything
Fourteen-year-old Noah loves watching television. Every evening, he spends hours sitting on the sofa watching his favourite shows. However, last month, he had a big problem. He got some bad grades in his science and maths tests. His teachers told him that he often forgot to do his homework. Noah knew he needed to change his habits.
On Saturday, Noah went to the stationery shop and bought a large diary and some bright pens. He decided to make a detailed schedule. On each page, he wrote the exact times for his schoolwork and the times for his favourite programmes. He planned to finish all his homework before he turned on the television.
The first week was quite difficult. On Wednesday, a new episode of a popular show started at six o’clock, but Noah had a long history essay to write. My Lazy Holidays and Busy School Days
My name is Mark, and I am fourteen years old. It is the middle of August, which means it is the summer holiday. I am feeling fantastic right now! During the school year, my life is always busy and full of rules. But these days, everything is completely different.
When I have school, my alarm rings at half past six every morning. I have to put on my smart school uniform and brush my teeth quickly. I usually eat my breakfast in just five minutes! Then, I must run to catch the yellow school bus at a quarter past seven because the driver never waits for anyone.
However, my summer mornings are so much better. I don’t use an alarm clock, so I usually open my eyes around ten o’clock. I stay in my comfortable pajamas and spend at least half an hour eating my breakfast. I love reading my favorite comic books while I eat. It is the best way to start the day.
The evenings are also very different. On school days, I have to finish my homework and turn off the lights by half past nine. Now, I can stay up late to play video games online with my classmates.
