Saving Up for a Designer Jacket

Lucas

I really wanted a fantastic designer jacket, but they are very expensive. My parents told me to keep my cash at the bank, but I prefer having it at home. I hide all my monthly allowance inside an old shoe box under my bed. It took me a long time to save enough because I still spend a little bit on chocolate sometimes. In the end, I didn’t get a jacket fresh from the store. I found someone on the internet who wanted to sell theirs, so I bought that one instead. It looks amazing!

Maya

I saw my favourite singer wearing this beautiful winter coat in a music video, and I immediately knew I needed it. To save enough money, I started helping my neighbours clean their cars at the weekend to increase my allowance. I also decided not to buy candy or biscuits after school anymore. Every penny was important! I only buy things straight from the shop, never from other people, so I had to pay full price. It was difficult, but holding my new jacket makes me so happy.

Finn

I don’t have time to wash cars or do jobs for neighbors because I have too much homework. To buy my expensive designer jacket, I just saved my normal monthly allowance for half a year. I didn’t care about looking like an actor or musician; I just loved the style! I gave all the cash to my mum so she could keep it safe in my digital account. It is much better there than lying around my room. My grandad also handed me a fifty-pound note for my excellent school grades, which really helped me reach my goal.

Matching Holiday T-Shirts

Alex

I am so excited about our summer trip to Spain! I think getting the same t-shirts is a brilliant idea. We are not all the same shape, so we must make sure we order big ones for some guys and smaller ones for the others. I want us to print a joke on the front so that everyone smiles when they see us. I looked at some options in a few stores in our town, but I think ordering them from the internet is much easier. I have saved plenty of pocket money, so I can pay for them all today!

Ben

It will be awesome to have team t-shirts for our holiday, but I really hope we can find cheap ones. I spent most of my cash on the flight, so I can’t afford anything expensive! I think we should pick black or deep blue because they won’t look dirty quickly. I do not want any silly words on them either. If they look cool, I will definitely continue wearing mine at home when we return from the holiday. We shouldn’t put them on while we are on the plane, though, because I want to keep mine clean for the beach!

Carl

I cannot wait for our group holiday next month! Instead of using a website to get our matching t-shirts, let’s go to the new shopping centre tomorrow and get them there. That way, we can check the material before we pay. I hope we choose bright yellow or red, as darker shades are terrible for the summer weather. I think it would be amazing to put them on before we get on the train to the airport. Everyone will know we are travelling together! They probably won’t be very useful after the holiday, but they will look great in photos.

Shopping on Black Friday

Leo

I hate busy supermarkets, so I never leave my house on Black Friday. Instead, I wait until the clock passes twelve at night and do all my shopping on my laptop in bed! It is so much easier. To prepare, I put a few pounds from my weekend job into a glass jar every single month. By November, I have a big amount of money to spend. My mum usually gets things for me during the sales, but this year I am paying for my own new trainers. I don’t need a list because I know exactly what I want!

Sarah

My rule for the big sales is simple. I always use a pen to make a note of exactly what I need before I go out. If it isn’t on my little note, I don’t put it in my shopping bag! I never buy clothes on the web. I have to visit the actual shops because I need to touch the sweaters and dresses to see if they are soft. My best mate always comes to town with me. I need her to tell me if a jacket looks good or terrible! We go early in the morning, so we never sleep in late.

Mark

I think some shops play tricks on Black Friday. To be safe, I check the numbers on the price tags at the beginning of November. That way, I know if the store is actually making the items cheaper! I don’t have a lot of money saved up, so I have to be very careful. Actually, I never get anything for myself during these big sales. Instead, I use the great offers to find cheap Christmas presents for my parents and my younger sister. I prefer going alone, without any friends, so I can walk quickly through the crowds.
