A Great Change for Our School
My name is Leo, and I am in Year 9 at Westville High School. For many years, our school only had a very small gym. It was often cold in the winter, and we couldn’t play basketball inside. But last month, our head teacher gave us some amazing news.
Now, there are builders everywhere. They are making a huge new sports hall next to the science building. During my breaks, I love watching the builders work. My friend Sam thinks the noise is annoying, but I don’t mind it at all. I just feel excited when I see the walls getting higher every day.
The new sports hall is going to be fantastic. Our sports teacher, Mr. Davies, says it will have enough space for two basketball games at the same time. Also, there will be new showers and a special room for keeping all the sports equipment. We won’t have to carry heavy bags of footballs from the main building anymore.
The builders will finish the sports hall in May, just before the summer holidays. Our head teacher is planning a big party to open it, and all our parents can come. I really hope I can play in the first basketball match there. It is going to be the best day of the school year!

A Change in the School Kitchen
Fourteen-year-old Leo usually enjoys going to school, but he absolutely hates lunchtimes. Every day at half past twelve, he walks into the school cafeteria and feels disappointed.
