Lily’s Beautiful Project
Eleven-year-old Lily loves nature. Every day at school, when the bell rings for the morning break, most students run outside to play football or chat with their friends. However, yesterday, Lily decided to do something different. She didn’t go to the busy playground. Instead, she walked to the quiet school garden behind the science building.
The garden looked a bit boring because there were only green plants and no colour. But Lily had a plan. She opened her backpack and took out some beautiful, colourful flowers that she brought from home. There were pink, yellow, and bright blue ones. She found a small tool and began to make holes in the soft earth.
It was hard work, and her hands quickly became dirty. While she was working, her classmate Tom walked past. He usually plays sports during the break, but he stopped to watch her. He thought the flowers looked fantastic, so he offered to get some water for them. Lily was very happy to have some help.
When the break finished twenty minutes later, the garden looked completely different. Lily was tired and her uniform was a little dirty, but she felt extremely proud of her work. Now, she is going to visit the garden every day to look after her beautiful new plants.

The School’s Amazing New Laptops
My name is Mark, and I am a student at Greenhill High School. I love my school, but I never liked our computer room. For a long time, we had very old desktop computers. They were so slow that it took ten minutes just to turn them on. Sometimes, they even stopped working while we were doing our homework!
But last week, everything changed. When we walked into our IT class on Monday morning, the old computers weren’t there anymore. Instead, we saw thirty shiny new laptops on the desks. Our teacher, Mrs. Evans, smiled and told us that the school finally bought them for us. All the students were really surprised and happy.
These new laptops are amazing. First, they are much faster than the old ones, so we can find information on the internet immediately. Also, the screens are very clear, and the keyboards are quiet when we type. Now, doing our school projects is actually fun, and nobody gets angry at the machines.
Because we have this fantastic new equipment, Mrs. Evans is going to start a coding club next month. We will learn how to make our own simple computer games. I can’t wait to join it. Having these new laptops is the best thing that has happened this year!

A colourful change at school
Leo is fifteen years old and he loves drawing. At his school, there was a big, grey wall on the playground. It was very ugly. One day, his teacher said, “We are going to paint a nature picture on the wall.” A famous local artist, Mr. Davis, came to the school to help. Leo was very excited and immediately asked to be his assistant.
