Amazing Science-Fiction Shows

Ryan

My older brother told me to watch Star Journeys last year, and I love it! The best part is seeing the towns of the next century. The computer team did a wonderful job creating the tall buildings and bright lights. Also, the huge flying machines look absolutely beautiful. I wish I could travel in one! The men and women acting in the story aren’t very good at their jobs, but I don’t mind. I have only watched the first season, but I really can’t wait to see more.

Megan

I discovered a brilliant sci-fi programme called Planet X on the internet. Everyone talks about the computer tricks, but for me, the stars of the story are the most wonderful thing. They really make you believe they are living on another world! The fast songs and loud noises they play during action scenes also make everything feel very exciting and fun. There are some strange aliens, but they look quite silly, so I didn’t close my eyes at all. I watch it with my classmates every weekend.

Toby

Dark Moon is my favourite sci-fi show ever. The music is a bit quiet and boring, and I don’t really care about the flying cars, but the rest is fantastic. I wanted to hide under my blanket because the space beasts looked so real and terrible! The first few shows were quite basic, but the most recent stories have the cleverest computer work I have ever seen. They really know how to use technology now. My parents hate sci-fi, so I usually enjoy it alone in my bedroom.

Organizing a Movie Marathon

Max

I am so excited about this weekend. We are going to watch movies together in my living room. I really wanted to do it here because my family just bought a huge, soft sofa, which is perfect for resting on for hours! Sam picked the movies, which is great because I usually just watch action films. I told my friends to bring some snacks. However, I asked them not to get any chilli chips for me. My mouth always hurts when things have too much pepper in them, so I will just eat popcorn.

Lily

I wanted to have the movie day at my apartment, but my chairs are too hard. Max’s place is much better! I am in charge of the snacks for everyone. I plan to go to the supermarket on Saturday morning to get lots of burning hot crisps and spicy sweets. I love them! I hope we don’t start the first film too late. In my opinion, we should begin before lunch so we have time to see four or five movies. I just hope Sam doesn’t pick anything too scary!

Sam

This movie marathon is going to be brilliant. It’s my job to decide what we view on Saturday. I spent ages looking online for good options. I know Max likes action, but films that make people laugh are definitely my favourites, so I found some great ones. I’m glad I don’t have to bring any food because I spent all my pocket money last week! Lily is bringing spicy snacks. I really like strong flavours, so I will eat a lot of them. Usually, I only watch TV at night, so a daytime marathon is different for me!

Discovering New Bands Online

Mark

I use a fantastic music app on my phone. It costs me a few pounds a month, but it is brilliant because there are no advertisements. I always turn on a loud playlist when I go running in the park. Fast songs give me more energy! My brother often sends me his favourite song lists, but I prefer finding my own. I usually search for tracks that artists have just released. It is the best way to find modern rock groups. I do not like quiet songs at all!

Sofia

Finding new bands is my favourite hobby. I don’t pay anything for my streaming software because I don’t mind the advertisements. I never listen to music while playing basketball or tennis because my earphones always fall out. Instead, I play music while doing my homework. I usually choose lists of songs that my classmates put together. Last month, I heard a brilliant pop group on one of these lists. I loved them so much that I bought tickets to watch them play on stage a week later!

Leo

When I want to rest easily after a long day at school, I put on my headphones and choose a slow, acoustic playlist. The app I use is amazing because it automatically suggests bands based on what I already like. I really enjoy exploring playlists that feature singers from different countries, especially in South America and Asia. It is a great way to hear beautiful languages I don’t understand! Some of the tracks are very old, not just from this year. I hope to see some of these foreign musicians perform live one day.
