Sharing a Movie Subscription

Liam

I love our new shared movie account. It is perfect for me because I often enjoy viewing funny stories on my small screen when I am on the bus to school. Joining this group was an excellent decision because I recently ended my monthly contract with another online platform, which was too expensive. Now, I spend much less. At the weekends, I usually sit on the sofa with my mum and dad to choose a cartoon we can watch together. My brother wanted to join our plan too, and he loves old black-and-white movies, but he has no money.

Sophia

I am so glad my friends asked me to split the bill for this video website. My older sister gives me half the cash every month, so it is a great deal for me. When we first joined, I thought the technology would be difficult, but setting up my own page on the app was very simple and took one minute. I already knew it would be cheap because I checked the website prices last year. I usually watch thrillers on the big TV in my bedroom. I don’t like using a small phone when I am on a train journey because the network connection often drops.

Noah

Sharing an account with my classmates is an excellent idea. We divided the total cost between three people, and I really didn’t expect it to cost so little! It was an amazing surprise for my pocket money. It took me a long time to make the password work on my computer, but now it is fine. I usually watch action movies after my schoolwork. However, I think most of the classic movies from thirty years ago on this app are not very exciting. My parents never view anything with me because they prefer reading books.

Learning a Foreign Song

Alice

I really like a new Spanish pop song. At the start, speaking the language fast was not easy for my mouth! But I didn’t give up. To learn it, I took my notebook and a pen and copied every line. That really helped it stay in my head. I didn’t learn it with my parents or sister, I did it alone. Now, I understand more vocabulary, which is fantastic for my language exams next month. I don’t want to sing on a stage, though! I just enjoy practicing in my bedroom.

Ben

My older brother and I both love Korean pop music. Last week, we decided to memorise a very famous track together. Every evening, we spend half an hour practicing in our living room. I don’t write anything down because I prefer to just listen and repeat. The best time to practice is when I am taking the bus to the city centre. I put my headphones on and play the melody again and again. Some of my friends sing at concerts, but we just do it for fun at home.

Carla

I am practicing a beautiful Japanese song right now. I want everything to be perfect because my friends and I have a talent show next week, and I am going to stand on stage and perform it! To get ready, I watched some online videos that explain what every sentence means in English. It is much easier to remember the lyrics when you know the message behind them. I don’t listen to it in the car or on the train because I need a quiet place to focus on how to say the words.

A Classical Music Concert

Lucas

The classical music concert was amazing! My older sister bought me a ticket as a birthday gift, and we went together. I really loved looking at all the instruments on stage. The concert finished exactly on time. After the show, I visited the small shop in the hall. I wanted a poster, but instead, I bought a disc of the orchestra’s music to play in my bedroom. I saw the musicians walking away, but it was too busy to talk to them.

Emma

I love orchestral music, so I was excited to see the national orchestra. I went to the large concert hall alone. The music was beautiful, but it was a very warm evening and there was no fresh air inside the building, so I felt quite uncomfortable. The program said the show would end at 9 p.m., but the musicians didn’t finish playing until 10 p.m.! I walked home because the hall is very near my house. I wanted to buy a CD of the show, but the music shop was already closed.

Tom

I went to the classical concert with my friends from school. We caught the number 14 bus to the city center, which was very cheap. Inside, the hall was nice and cool. The tickets were expensive, but the music was wonderful. When it ended, we waited near the back stage door. I was so excited when I spoke to the main violin player and told him he was excellent. My parents wanted to come too, but they had to work. I didn’t buy anything from the shop because I didn’t have enough money.
