Future Airline Pilots

Ethan

I really want to be a pilot for a big airline. My father loves watching planes at the airport with me, but he just works in an office. I spend all my pocket money on books about flying, so I am not keeping any cash in the bank right now! Pilots have to understand storms, clouds, and the sky. Because of this, I study hard to learn about those things. The best thing about this job is that I can explore lots of foreign cities, and the flights won’t cost me a penny!

Marco

Flying a plane is my biggest dream, but learning how to do it is very expensive. I have a part-time job in a café, and I don’t buy things like games. I put everything I earn in the bank so I can pay for my future lessons. I already speak excellent Spanish and English, which is useful for pilots. I don’t really care about taking free holidays to far away places. For me, the best part of the job is putting on the amazing jacket and cap. I think looking smart is great!

Daniel

My aunt works for a famous airline and drives very big passenger planes. She tells me amazing stories about her trips! I want to do the same job. I am not old enough to really fly yet, so I use a video game on my laptop that lets me pretend I am in the air. It is completely safe! I don’t mind what kind of jacket or trousers I wear for work. I hate reading thick science books, but I know I must get much better at English. Pilots need to speak it perfectly to talk to people everywhere.

Dreaming of a Fashion Brand

Mia

I love creating beautiful dresses. My grandmother made clothes for her job, and she sits with me at the weekend to show me how to cut and sew. It is wonderful to learn from her! I don’t buy expensive materials for my projects. Instead, I take my parents’ large shirts and jeans that they don’t want anymore and change them into modern outfits. My friends love my style, so I give them my designs for free. I don’t want people to pay me right now, but maybe one day I will have a famous brand!

Leo

My dream is to create a popular brand of trainers and tracksuits. I am very active, so I want to design outfits that people can run and jump in comfortably. I don’t ask my parents for advice because they don’t know about fashion. I just watch teaching videos to learn new skills. My biggest goal is to have a real building right in the middle of our city, where everyone can come and try on my jackets and shoes. I haven’t earned any money from my work yet, but I am still practising!

Sofia

I want my clothing brand to be for everyone. I don’t make outfits for doing exercise or going to the gym. Instead, I design simple, comfortable pieces that you can put on to go to school or the supermarket, just like a daily routine. I film myself making the clothes and put the clips on my video channel. Lots of teenagers watch them! A few months ago, some girls asked to buy my skirts, so now they send me cash and I post the clothes to them. I prefer doing this than working in a town centre!

Future Police Detectives

Harry

I decided I wanted to be a detective when I was ten. I am not very good at biology or chemistry at school, so I won’t work in a lab. Instead, I want to talk to people and find out the truth. I spend all my pocket money on thick novels about catching thieves. Turning the pages and guessing who did it is so exciting! Also, every Friday night, my family and I sit in the living room to catch the latest mystery series on the television. Seeing those actors makes me want to do the job for real!

Nadia

I want to be a police detective because I want to make sure everyone in my city can walk around without feeling afraid. Stopping bad people from hurting my neighbors is my biggest dream. Some friends love watching crime films on TV, but I know real police work is completely different. I understand that the job isn’t always safe, and officers can get into difficult situations. However, I am very brave! To answer hard questions, you must talk and share ideas with the other officers. Nobody can find the truth without any help!

Toby

My uncle wears a blue uniform and drives a police car every day. He tells me amazing stories about his life! He works on the streets, but I want to be a different kind of detective. I prefer to stay inside where nothing bad can happen to me. I want to use chemistry and biology to understand how a crime happened. By looking closely at a little dirt or hair, you can discover exactly who was in a room! I like studying quietly by myself, so I don’t want to spend all day talking to other officers.
