A Special Room for Our Cousins
Tom
We have a fantastic space for my cousins on the highest floor, right under the roof. My dad prepared the room by himself before they came. He painted the walls bright yellow and green, so it is a really cheerful place! The window is quite tiny, so they cannot really see the garden, but they don’t mind. There is a huge screen in there for playing video games and watching films, which is great for them. They always sleep alone up there, while I stay in my own bed downstairs.
Sara
Our visitor space is on the ground floor, just across from the kitchen. When my cousins stay, they have the whole place to themselves. Before our guests arrived, my mum and I spent a weekend picking out the new beds and putting up beautiful curtains. It was fun to do! The space is painted plain white, not a mix of bright shades. There is nothing to watch movies on, but we usually play board games anyway. I actually keep my heavy winter jackets in the wardrobe there because my own bedroom is too small.
Mike
We don’t have a separate bedroom for visitors. When my cousins arrive, we share my large bedroom. We just put some extra blankets on the floor and sleep in the same place! I always move my school uniform and t-shirts to my parents’ room so there is space for their bags. My room is just painted light grey, so it is quite plain. We have a computer screen for games, but their favourite thing is opening the curtains. They really enjoy watching the birds in the big trees outside every morning.

The Biggest Room In Our House
Leo
The largest space in our home is the living room, which is right next to the front door. It has huge glass doors, so when I sit inside, I can look out and see all the lovely trees and flowers in our garden. I spend a lot of time there because we have an amazing, soft sofa. It is perfect for resting after a long day. I love playing video games, but my friends usually come to my bedroom for that, rather than sitting downstairs with my parents. My family enjoys watching films together there on Sunday evenings instead.
Sofia
In my house, the kitchen is definitely the biggest area. It is a very busy place! My dad loves to prepare our dinners there, and at the weekend, my sister and I bake chocolate cakes. There is a huge table in the middle. The chairs are made of hard wood, so you cannot really relax on them, but it is a great place to focus. I always do my maths and history projects there before dinner. We have a window, but it just points at a boring, busy road. Still, it is the warmest room in the house!
Malik
To find the largest room in our house, you have to walk down the stairs, as it is completely below the rest of the building! We use this basement space just for having fun. It is much too noisy for trying to read books for class or write essays. Instead, my parents and I spend hours down there playing different matches with dice and cards on the floor. We bring drinks from upstairs to snack on. On Saturdays, a group of my classmates comes over to hang out, listen to pop music, and play table tennis.

Our Modern Kitchens
Liam
Our new kitchen is very modern and big. I am so happy that my parents painted the walls yellow and white, because it always feels so sunny inside. We have a huge dining table in the middle of the room. We often have ten or twelve people sitting down to eat together, usually my aunts and cousins. It is great! Because we buy so much food for everyone, we have two large fridges. However, I never sit at the table to read or write. I need to be in my quiet bedroom to do that, away from the noisy cooking!
Sophia
My family recently built a really modern kitchen, and I love spending time in it. We didn’t choose bright paints; instead, our cupboards are all dark grey. We have a long dining table, but usually, just my parents and I sit there. My favourite thing is that I never wash up by hand because we have a fantastic dishwasher now! We also have a pair of tall fridges. One is for our normal food like milk and meat. We keep the other one specially for cold water and fresh juice, which is perfect for hot days.
Noah
Of all the rooms in our flat, this is absolutely my favourite. Our modern kitchen is brilliant. We have a huge wooden dining table. It is perfect for meals, but I also open my books and finish my school essays on it every evening before dinner. We clean all our cups and bowls in the sink by hand because my mum doesn’t want another noisy machine. However, we do have two fridges! One is for milk, cheese, and meat. The second one is completely full of apples, carrots, and salads from my grandfather’s garden.
