A Great Place to Watch Movies

Lucas

I absolutely love the new sofa in my living room. We didn’t get it from a furniture shop in town; my parents ordered it from a website instead. It is covered in soft grey material. When I watch long films on Saturday nights, the cushions feel so amazing that I usually close my eyes and wake up the next morning! I never see how the story finishes. My little sister likes eating biscuits there, but we are not allowed to have cooked dishes on it because it might get dirty. It is quite small, so it’s really just for me and my cat.

Emma

Our sofa is the best place in the house to watch movies. We went to a big supermarket to buy it last year. I wanted it because it is a lovely yellow, and it looks fantastic with our white walls! My favourite thing is watching comedies on it while having pizza or burgers. My dad doesn’t mind if I drop a piece of cheese, because you can just wipe the material with a wet cloth in one minute. The cushions are quite firm, so I always stay awake for the whole movie, unlike my brother!

David

The sofa in our living room isn’t new or modern. In fact, my grandparents gave it to us when they moved to a smaller flat. Even though it is very old, it is still the most comfortable place to enjoy a film! It is completely brown, which is a bit boring, but I really don’t mind. The best part is its huge size. My parents, my two brothers, and I can all sit down and watch an adventure movie together without pushing each other. We use the internet to find great films to watch on it every weekend.

Dreaming of a Smart House

Leo

I would love to live in a smart house! I am quite lazy and I always forget to switch off the lamps when I go out. It would be great if my mobile could do it for me. Also, during winter, I could use an app to make the living room warm before I arrive home from college. My parents always make sure the front door is closed properly, so I wouldn’t need my phone to keep out bad people. I have a brilliant speaker for my songs, but I prefer turning it on by myself.

Zara

For me, a smart home is all about making daily life easier. Getting up for school is terrible, so I want an app to open my bedroom curtains and let the sun wake me up. Also, I would love to hear the latest pop tracks everywhere I walk inside the house. I never keep my lamps burning when I leave a room, so I don’t need a computer for that. If technology does all the boring jobs, I can spend extra hours playing football instead of cleaning! I enjoy visiting the market, so I’ll still get my own fruit.

Max

I think my phone could be the perfect assistant. I want a smart fridge that knows when we don’t have any milk or cheese left and gets it directly from the local supermarket! That would be amazing. I also think about protection. With one click on a screen, I could lock all the doors and windows to stop anyone getting in at night. I always jump out of bed very easily, so an alarm app isn’t necessary for me. I also don’t care if the house is freezing, so I wouldn’t use technology to turn on the heating.
