Moving from an Apartment to a House

Sam

Before we moved, our old flat was right in the middle of town. Now we live really far away, and I have to catch a long bus to see a film or buy clothes. I really wish we were back there! But one good thing is that I sleep much better. In our old apartment, I could hear cars and buses all night, but here I only hear the birds singing in the morning. My brother wants to get a dog because we finally have a garden, but our parents said no. At least I still have a bedroom just for me!

Chloe

In our old apartment, I had a bedroom just for me. Here in the new house, my younger sister sleeps in the same room as me, which is sometimes quite difficult! However, because we finally have grass at the back of the building, mum and dad bought me a cute puppy! The downstairs area is also enormous compared to our old flat. I can ask all my classmates to come over for pizza on Saturdays, and we actually all have somewhere to sit! I don’t really play sports or grow plants in our new yard, though.

Liam

Having a garden changed everything for me. I recently bought some seeds with my pocket money and I am learning to grow carrots and potatoes. It is absolutely brilliant to spend my weekends outside! However, because our new house is much bigger than our old flat, there is a lot of cleaning to do. My mum asks me to wash the floors and windows every Sunday, which I never had to do before. Our new street actually has a lot of traffic, so it isn’t very peaceful. I haven’t asked any friends to visit yet because we are still unpacking boxes.

Living in a City Apartment

Lucas

I changed my address just a month ago. My new flat is on the tenth floor of a very tall tower. The view from my bedroom window is amazing, especially in the evening when everything is glowing outside. However, the streets below are full of buses and motorbikes all the time. The loud sounds keep me awake until very late. My brother wants to move here too, but I don’t want to share my space. I usually go for a run in the local park because we don’t have a gym here.

Mia

Living in the centre of town is very exciting. I have been here for two years. It is quite expensive, so I split the rent with another university student. She is a really great flatmate. The best thing about our place is that we have our own fitness centre on the ground floor. It has lots of machines to keep healthy, so I don’t need to go out to train. I actually sleep really well because my bedroom is at the back, far away from the noisy traffic.

Noah

My parents bought this flat for me when I started university. I live by myself, which is nice and quiet. Because the building is right next to the campus, it only takes me five minutes to walk to my classes. I never have to catch a busy bus! When I need to prepare for my exams, I always go up to the roof garden. It is very peaceful up there with my books. Sometimes I look at the roads below, but watching the beautiful sunset is much better.

Living Far From The City

Max

I live in a very peaceful house. I have been here since I was a baby, and I never want to leave! It is miles away from the capital, but that is fine with me. My favorite thing about living here is seeing all the birds and rabbits outside my bedroom window. I spend hours looking at them. Some people say village life is boring, but I can meet my mates every day at the local park. We have a small shop here, so getting milk or bread is very easy.

Elena

My village is completely silent, which is great for studying. Our home is very small, though, and I often wish we had some more space! We are very far from the big city, and unfortunately, my classmates live many kilometres away. Because of this, we cannot see each other very often after school. However, when I want to travel to the capital with my family, catching a coach is fast and not expensive at all. I don’t see wild animals here, just my neighbor’s noisy dogs!

Karl

My family’s house is in the middle of nowhere. It is beautiful, but if we need to get food for dinner, my parents have to drive for almost an hour! The buses around here are terrible, so you definitely need a car. I love my bedroom because it is huge, much larger than my friends’ rooms. Still, I don’t want to stay in this quiet place forever. When I get a job, I am planning to find a nice apartment right in the centre of the capital.
