The Funniest Classmate

Emma

My desk partner is a boy named Jack. He is very funny! He doesn’t need to put on crazy hats or big shoes to make us smile. Instead, he uses his eyes and mouth to look completely different. We always laugh loudly when he does it! Jack is also amazing at talking exactly like popular actors and singers. If you close your eyes, you really believe the actual person is standing next to you. He sometimes tries to make funny drawings on the board, but he isn’t very good at it!

Liam

Chloe sits next to me in maths, and she is brilliant. When I am having a terrible day or feeling unhappy, a quick chat with her instantly makes me feel good again. She always talks about her parents and her annoying little brother, describing the crazy situations that happen in her house. It sounds like a television comedy! Chloe isn’t great at sounding like famous people, but she knows how to tell a great joke. She hopes to become a professional actor and make people laugh on stage when she finishes school.

Noah

Everyone knows Max because he is the funniest boy in the school. He loves bringing strange objects to class. Yesterday, he arrived wearing a bright green coat and huge purple sunglasses! We all started laughing immediately. He doesn’t want to be a star on television when he is older, though. Max prefers making things. Planning the Weekend

Ben

In my group, we always decide what to do for the weekend on Friday afternoons before we go home. I prefer talking face-to-face, so we never use the internet to text about our ideas. We like finding things that keep our cash in our pockets, like playing football in the park or going for a walk. My mother sometimes tells me what to do, but we never listen to her! Because there are five of us, we don’t always want the same thing. Sometimes people get quite angry with each other until we finally select a game!

Sara

My friends and I love visiting new places in our city. We hate going to the same park or café every week! Everyone has different favourite hobbies, so each week a different person in the group picks our activity. This weekend it is my choice! We usually spend a lot of our pocket money on cinema tickets or meals in restaurants. We don’t argue, but sometimes we can’t think of anything fun. When that happens, my mum and dad usually suggest a really great place for us to visit.

Mike

I have a big group of mates. It is hard to meet after class, so we use an app on our smartphones to write messages and make our plans. We usually start sharing ideas on Saturday morning, never on Fridays! We never share the job of choosing what to do. My friend David is the leader, so he always decides the activity. Nobody gets angry because we just love hanging out. We always gather at the local sports centre on Sunday afternoons, no matter what activity we do later.

Why We Are Best Friends

Lucas

I am very different from Emma and David. For example, I hate making lists for our weekends, I just like to wait and see what happens! I am quite a quiet person, but I love seeing my mates smile. When they have a bad day, I always tell them silly stories to cheer them up. They say I am the most relaxed person they know because I never get angry or upset about things. I just take a deep breath and enjoy life.

Emma

I am definitely the loudest person in our group. I can chat for hours and hours, and David sometimes tells me I need to give someone else a turn to speak! I am very confident and I absolutely love chatting with strangers at parties or on the bus. Making new mates is the best! I also get bored easily, so I always want us to try fast rides or go rock climbing. Sometimes I get a bit stressed if things go wrong, but my boys always help me feel better.

David

Our friendship works so well because we all bring something different. I don’t like hanging around with people I haven’t met before, so I let Emma do all the chatting at parties! I also take my time to choose the right words before I open my mouth, while the others just say whatever is in their heads. My main job in the group is writing down our schedules. If we go on a trip, I buy the tickets and write down exactly what we are going to do every day.
