Planning a Forest Camping Trip

Max

I love going to the woods, especially when there is snow and ice on the ground. Most people like summer trips, but not me! I don’t have to buy a lot of things for my holidays. My uncle always lets me take his sleeping bag and tent. Because it’s freezing, my backpack is always extremely heavy with lots of extra trousers and sweaters that I never even put on! I always carry a bottle to drink from, but I never camp next to a river. I just take my mobile to listen to music in the evening.

Lily

Getting ready for a trip in the trees is very exciting! The first thing I do is use the internet to find out if the sky will be sunny or cloudy. If it is wet, I stay at home! I always go with my older cousin, and we carry our own new tents. The woods are very large, so I always make sure my smartphone is fully charged. I use an application on it to find the correct paths to walk on. We only take a few light t-shirts because we don’t like carrying heavy bags.

Omar

I try to go camping as often as I can in the summer. I hate feeling cold at night! I don’t have a car, and my parents are usually busy. Instead, I buy a ticket and sit on the coach for an hour to reach the national park. When I arrive, I try to find a nice place beside a lake or a stream to spend the night. It is wonderful to hear the fish jump! To stop myself from walking the wrong way, I just carry a large paper map in my jacket pocket.

Our Favorite Museum Exhibitions

David

I love science, so I visited the new space exhibition. Usually, entering the museum is free, but I needed to give them ten pounds to see this special room. It was really busy, and I had to wait in a long line because everyone wanted to see the moon rocks! I didn’t go with my teachers and friends; I went alone on Saturday. You couldn’t pick up anything, so we just looked at the displays behind glass. Afterwards, I went to the café for a burger, but it wasn’t historical food!

Maria

Last week, my history teacher took our group to the Natural History Museum. We saw the giant dinosaur bones. The room was actually very quiet, which was nice. A guide told us all about how these big animals lived. I was surprised to discover the plants and meat they had for their meals millions of years ago. I wanted to get a small dinosaur toy from the shop to take home, but I didn’t have enough cash. I told my mum and dad about the exhibition, but they don’t want to go.

Lucas

The technology exhibition is my absolute favorite. There is a room filled with old clocks and engines. The best part is that visitors are allowed to push the buttons and turn the wheels to see how the old engines move. The normal ticket includes everything, so you don’t need extra cash to enter. Before leaving, I went to the shop and got a great book about inventions to keep. I went by myself this time, but I am going to bring my mother and father here next weekend.

The Fastest Rides in the World!

Toby

I love fast rides! Last week, I travelled to the biggest theme park in our country. I didn’t go with my family. Instead, I went with my teacher and forty other students from my year. It was a brilliant trip. We went on a rollercoaster that travels at 120 kilometres an hour! We didn’t stand in line for long, which was lucky. However, you need a lot of cash to buy a pass for the day. I think they should make it cheaper for young people. I didn’t feel sick at all when it finished, I just wanted to go again!

Lucas

My favorite theme park has the highest rollercoaster in Europe. When I sat in the seat, my legs were shaking before the train even moved! I thought I couldn’t do it, but it was actually really fun. Afterwards, I spent my pocket money on an image of me screaming on the ride. My sister had a bad stomach because the ride was so fast, but I felt completely fine. I really love this place, but next summer, I hope to travel to a completely new park in the USA to try the rollercoasters there.

Ruby

I went to a famous theme park for my birthday. My dad got the tickets online. I don’t know the price, but it was a great present! The park was very busy. To get on the fastest rollercoaster, we were standing outside for over 120 minutes. It was boring, but the ride was amazing. We went upside down three times! When it finished, though, my stomach hurt. I needed to sit down quietly and drink some water. I wanted a photo of my birthday trip, but the shop was closed.
