A Modern Way to Do Homework

Fourteen-year-old Mia is a student at a modern secondary school. She always does her homework, but she doesn’t use pens or paper like most of her classmates. Instead, Mia prefers to write all her school projects and essays on her new digital tablet.

There are many reasons why Mia loves her tablet. First, it is very light. In the past, she had to carry a lot of heavy notebooks in her backpack, and her shoulders often hurt. Now, all her schoolwork is in one small machine. Also, she uses a special digital pen. When she makes a spelling mistake, she doesn’t need to cross it out. She can just delete it with one click.

However, technology can sometimes cause problems. Last Tuesday, Mia was doing a long history project when her tablet screen suddenly went black. The battery was dead, and she couldn’t find her charger anywhere. She had to find some old paper and a pen to finish the work. It took a long time, and her hand felt very tired at the end of the evening.

The next day, her history teacher gave her an excellent mark for the project. Mia was very pleased, but she was also glad to finally find her charger. She hopes she never has to write a long essay on paper again!
