Favorite Video Editing Software

Leo

I use a program called EditMax. It was quite expensive to buy, but I think it is worth it. I love making videos of my friends skateboarding. EditMax is amazing for putting different tunes in the background and changing the volume to match the action perfectly. My favorite thing, though, is the menu for adding titles. You can choose from hundreds of fantastic styles for the writing you put on the screen. My computer is quite fast, which helps, because this program needs a lot of memory to work well.

Maya

I edit all my videos with ClipStudio. My older cousin showed it to me last year when I wanted to start a vlog. It is brilliant if you don’t have any experience, because the instructions are so simple to understand. I don’t use it for fun very often, but I always use it to make projects for my history and science classes. My teachers always love them! I wish it had more title options, but for a cheap program, it does everything I need.

Sam

The video editor I use is called VidBasic. The best thing about it is that I downloaded it without paying a penny. Because it is totally free, it doesn’t have many tools for changing the sound. However, I read on the internet that it is designed for older laptops. It works perfectly on my slow machine at home! I never use it for studying, but I love making short, funny films about my dog. It is a bit difficult to learn at first, though.

An Inspiring Sports Coach

Jake

Last year, I felt really bored with football. In fact, I didn’t want to continue going to the sports club anymore. Then, Mr. Harris arrived. He didn’t just shout instructions at us. Instead, he planned fantastic activities, and our difficult running exercises suddenly became really fun! We smiled and laughed a lot, so we worked much harder. My dad told me to change my position on the pitch to score more goals, but Mr. Harris said I was already in the perfect place. After practice, I always eat a big burger, which probably isn’t very healthy!

Maria

My tennis teacher, Mrs. Clark, is simply amazing. I never wanted to stop playing my sport, but I wanted to hit the ball harder. Mrs. Clark noticed that I was always tired during long matches. She explained how putting the correct food on my plate, like lots of fresh vegetables, could give me more energy. I listened to her, and it worked! Also, when all the other girls went home at five o’clock, she kindly stayed on the court for another half an hour to help me. My favourite tennis star on television does that too!

Sam

Our basketball coach, David, used to be a huge star on television before he started teaching us. I felt incredibly lucky to meet him! In the past, I often worried about missing the basket. David taught me to stay calm and not to panic when things go wrong. He also noticed that I was running in the wrong area during matches. He moved me from the front of the group to the back, and now I play much better! We never stay at the gym after the lesson ends, because we train very hard and need to rest.

Discovering a New Talent

Sam

I joined the school theatre group because my friends were there. The leader, Mr. Davis, asked me to go on stage. I was really afraid to speak in front of so many people! I usually prefer helping with the lights, but I don’t understand how to turn those machines on. Mr. Davis helped me practice my words every week. He didn’t tell me I was the greatest actor, but he made me feel confident. Now, I love being in plays. In fact, I hope to go to college to do drama after I finish school.

Chloe

I loved the photography club from the first day, so it was never boring for me. Our leader, Tom, is an amazing photographer. He saw that I was taking pictures with my mobile phone. He handed me an old digital camera of his to take home and keep! Then, he explained what all the different buttons on it do. My parents hate having their picture taken inside our house, so I prefer going to the park to photograph birds and trees. One day, I want to win a competition, but I don’t want to study photography later.

Ryan

My mother made me join the weekend cooking class. For the first two weeks, I hated going and thought it was terrible. I wasn’t worried or nervous about using the hot cooker, I just thought cooking was for adults! But the teacher, Mark, changed my mind. One afternoon, he tried a slice of my chocolate cake and told me it was the most delicious thing in the room! We bring our own food to the club, so we never get anything for free from him. Now, I always prepare weekend meals for my mum and dad in our kitchen.
