Buying Winter Hats and Scarves

Mia

I am going to the mountains next week, so I needed some warm things. I wanted a hat that matched my dark blue jacket, but I saw a beautiful pink one instead. I didn’t buy my scarf and hat from a normal shop inside a mall. I got them from some stalls in the town square. My dad lent me the cash because I forgot my purse! The woman selling them was very nice, and the clothes were on special offer, so I saved a few pounds. My little sister loves them, but I want to keep them forever!

Noah

I usually hate shopping, but I had fun buying clothes for our winter trip. I went to a huge department store in the city centre. I bought a long wool scarf. It looks perfect with my winter jacket because they are both dark green! I also got a new hat using my own pocket money. I chose a bright orange one so my friends can easily find me in the white snow. It wasn’t cheap, but it is very thick and warm. I didn’t need to take anything back to the shop because everything fit me perfectly.

Lily

I am so excited about our holiday in the snow! Last weekend, my mum and I went to the shopping centre. I found a thick woolen hat, but I had to take the first one I bought back to the shop the next day to get a larger size. It was just too tight! I also got a light blue scarf. It cost a lot of money, but it is very beautiful. I won’t need such warm clothes in my city, so I will let my little brother have the hat when we come home.

Our Baseball Cap Collections

Alex

I have about twenty baseball caps in my room. I love sports teams that use bears or birds for their logos. They look so cool! I don’t usually buy them when I go on holiday. Instead, I order them online from other countries. Because they are from famous teams, they are never cheap and they cost me my whole monthly allowance. My brother offered to buy me a hat for my birthday once, but I prefer choosing my own. I just leave them all over my bedroom floor when I take them off.

Ben

I really love wearing caps. I change my hat every morning before school, so I never have the same one on Monday and Tuesday! Some of my friends sell their old hats on the internet, but I want to keep all of mine. I do not like sports teams with animals on them; I just prefer hats with simple letters. Because I love my collection so much, I never leave them on the floor. I put them away carefully inside a large plastic container under my bed.

Charlie

I started my collection three years ago when my uncle brought me a red cap from New York. Since then, every time my family goes on holiday to a new place, I find a local sports shop and buy one. I do not wear them very often, maybe just on the weekend. Many of them were quite cheap to buy. Now, I have over fifty hats! My bedroom is too small for all of them, so I hope to put a few on the internet and find buyers for them soon.

Using Canvas Tote Bags for School

Mia

I love my canvas tote bag. I bought it with my own pocket money, so it wasn’t a birthday surprise. To make it special, I used some brushes and colours to draw a lovely flower on the front. It is perfect for my heavy school books. The material is very thick, so when the weather is wet, my notebooks never get ruined. I actually use it at the weekend too, when I go to the swimming pool. It is very comfortable to carry, and it never hurts my arms.

Carlos

My aunt gave me this large canvas bag for my birthday last year. I was so happy when I opened it! It holds all my big coursebooks easily. The only bad thing is that there is only one large space inside. I wish there were a few small areas to keep my keys safe. A few weeks ago, one of the handles broke because my bag was too heavy. Luckily, I used a needle and some strong thread to sew it back together. Now it is completely fine again!

Yuki

I bought a beautiful canvas bag from a store in town. It has a big printed picture of a cat on it, which I really love. Inside, there are lots of useful little sections where I can put my mobile phone and pens. This makes it very easy to find things! However, when I put five or six large books inside, the long handle cuts into my body. It is quite painful to walk with it. Because of this, I leave it in my bedroom on Saturdays and Sundays.
