Finding the Right Basketball Shoes

Leo

I love playing basketball, but I used to wear any old trainers. One day, my team coach looked at my feet and told me I needed proper sports shoes. He explained that the wrong size can really hurt your toes. Some of my friends order their trainers from websites because it is cheaper. However, I never do that. You cannot check if they fit perfectly without putting them on your feet first! I always go to a sports shop in town to try them on. I never wear another player’s shoes because everyone’s feet are different.

Sam

Finding the right basketball shoe is so important. If you buy trainers that have too much space inside, you might think adding a heavy pair of winter socks will solve the problem. But honestly, that never works well because your foot still moves around inside. It can make you fall over! When your trainers fit your feet perfectly, your speed on the court really improves. I can definitely get past the other players much more easily now. Last year, I bought some shoes online, and I was very lucky they fit perfectly.

Max

Last month, I got some really cool basketball trainers. I wore them for a big match on Saturday, but they were too tight. After only twenty minutes, the pain was terrible, and I had to leave the court and sit down. I couldn’t continue! Luckily, a boy in my class had an extra pair of trainers in his bag, so I put his on instead. The next day, I returned my new trainers to the sports store and exchanged them for a larger size. Now I know how important a good fit is!

Taking Care of White Sports Shoes

Kevin

I love my white trainers, but they get dirty quickly. To keep them looking new, I always cover them with a special spray before I step outside. It stops rain from ruining them. The minute I get home, I wipe the dirt off. I never leave them by the door to clean later! To get the bottoms completely white, I take a little soap and a brush I don’t use for my teeth anymore, and I scrub them. I do it myself to save money, so I never take them to a professional cleaner.

Laura

My white sports shoes were really expensive, so I am very careful with them. I always look out the window in the morning. If there are dark clouds and water is falling, I choose different boots. I don’t have time to use small brushes on my shoes every day. When they look a bit grey, I just wash them with my jeans and sweaters. I add some soap, turn the power on, and they come out perfectly white! My friend puts hers in a bag to protect them, but I think that is too much work.

Diego

I wear my favourite white shoes all year, even in the winter! Because I wear them so much, they need a lot of care. I never wash them with my other clothes because it can break them. Also, I don’t use any chemical sprays. Instead, every two weeks, I take them to a great little shop in my town. I give the workers a few pounds, and they make my shoes look brand new. When I am not wearing them, I always leave them inside the cardboard box they came in. It keeps the dust away.

Matching Shoes and Backpacks

Toby

I really care about how my trainers and backpack look together. I never pick bright colours like yellow or orange because I don’t want everyone to look at me. Also, dark things like dark blue or black are fantastic because they never seem dirty, even if I wear them in the park. Last week, I needed a new bag and some sneakers. I didn’t know what to buy, but my dad said that grey looks cool. I listened to his idea, and now my grey bag and shoes look great together. I don’t wear them to my classes, though.

Emma

My backpack is neon yellow, so people can notice it from very far away! I bought it because it perfectly matches the dark green skirt and white shirt that I must wear for my lessons every day. I wanted some sneakers in the same yellow, but I couldn’t find any in the shops. My sister wouldn’t let me borrow hers. Instead, I just bought some plain white trainers. Then, I used a small brush to put some special fabric paint on them. It was quite a cheap project, and now my shoes and bag look amazing together!

Noah

Some students love having shoes and bags that are the exact same shade. I think that looks nice, but I just don’t get enough pocket money from my parents to shop like that. Getting a completely new set of bags and sneakers every time is just too expensive! To save cash, I often just ask my older brother if I can take his bags for the day. He has lots of them. My mum doesn’t like my shoes because they are usually very messy, and I am very bad at art, so I could never decorate them myself!
