Using a Fitness Tracking Watch

Max

I started tracking my steps a few months ago. I didn’t spend any money on my watch because I came first in a school running competition and it was my prize! I try to do 10,000 steps every single day, and I almost always reach that number by the evening. I don’t use the watch to check what my friends write to me; I prefer to read those on my phone. Also, some people use their watches to get out of bed, but I still use a loud clock!

Chloe

I bought my fitness tracker with my birthday money. I looked at lots of them, but I picked this one because I really loved the bright blue band. It matches my clothes perfectly! I want to walk 8,000 steps a day, but I rarely finish them because I’m quite lazy. My best friend has a black watch, but she didn’t tell me to buy mine. The only bad thing is that I often take it off to have a shower, and then go out for a walk without it!

Finn

A boy in my science class explained how great his tracker was, so I went to the shop the next day to get the exact same one! I paid for it with my own pocket money. I don’t care about the colour at all, I just want it to count my steps. The best part is that it connects to my mobile, so when someone sends me a few words, I can read them right on my wrist. It even shakes on my arm in the mornings to get me ready for school.

Aerobics and Loud Music

Sam

I usually go to aerobics at the sports centre with my best friend. I really love the classes with high volume! When the beat is strong, it gives me so much energy and I can finish the exercises much faster. Another great thing about the noise is that it covers the sound I make when I am breathing hard. If the room is quiet, I feel silly! My friend says she prefers exercising for hours, but my classes are only 45 minutes long.

Nina

I always do aerobics with my older sister on Tuesday evenings. Our teacher turns the speakers up really high, and I think it is the best way to get fit. Some people like quiet yoga, but doing sports without a lot of noise is just boring for me. The heavy beat also helps me relax. If I have a difficult day at school, the loud sounds make me forget all my bad moments completely. The teacher always picks the best dance tracks, too.

Carlos

For me, aerobics is the most fun part of the week. I actually help the instructor sometimes, and he lets me pick which pop songs we play! I always choose ones that are really loud. When the volume is turned all the way up, I don’t ever want to stop moving. I can easily stay in the gym for an extra hour just because of the great feeling. I don’t move very fast during the class, but the noisy music keeps me smiling.

Sunday Morning Countryside Walks

Alice

I live right next to some hills, so every Sunday morning I do a really quick walk there. My dog, Buster, always comes along, and he loves running in the tall grass. I don’t stop to eat anything on the way, but I have a huge breakfast when I get back to my house. I wear a smart watch to see my kilometres per hour, and it shows me I’m getting much fitter! I also love bringing my camera to capture images of beautiful flowers and woods.

Ben

I live in the centre of the city, so my Sunday walks take a bit of planning. I have to get in my vehicle and drive for thirty minutes to reach the green fields. I set my alarm for 5:00 a.m. because I love starting my journey before the sun comes up. It is very peaceful then. Sometimes I see farm animals like horses and sheep, but I always walk by myself. I never look at my phone to check my time because I just want to relax.

Clara

Every Sunday, I put on my best boots and do a really fast walk through the valleys. Because I am out for three or four hours, I always pack some sandwiches and a bottle of juice in my bag. The views are amazing, but I never use my mobile to record what I see. I prefer to just look with my own eyes. Last month, I joined a local walking club. I didn’t know anyone at first, but now I chat with lots of different members every weekend.
