A Terrible Morning for My Homework
My name is Tom, and I am fifteen years old. History is my favourite subject at high school. Last week, our teacher gave us a very difficult project about ancient Egypt. I spent three whole days writing my text and drawing lovely pictures. Finally, on Sunday evening, I finished everything. I put my work on the kitchen table and felt incredibly proud of it.
The next morning, I woke up early because I wanted to check my homework one last time. I went into the kitchen to make some breakfast. I poured a large glass of orange juice and carried it to the table. Suddenly, our cat, Luna, jumped onto a chair. I stepped back in surprise, and the glass fell out of my hand.
The orange juice went everywhere! Unfortunately, it completely covered my beautiful history project. The paper was extremely wet and the colours in my pictures looked terrible. I felt completely devastated. I quickly tried to dry the pages with a towel, but it was impossible to save my hard work. I had to go to school with nothing.
At school, I explained the accident to my history teacher, Mr Evans. I was very worried he would be angry. But he was actually very kind and gave me two more days to write it again. My new project isn’t as beautiful as the first one, but I got a good mark. Now, I never eat or drink near my school books!

Fixing My Bike by Myself
My name is Leo, and I am fifteen years old. I ride my bicycle to school every day. Last week, I had a big problem. My back tire went flat because I rode over some broken glass. I didn’t want to pay a mechanic to fix it, so I bought a cheap repair kit on the internet.
The small box arrived in the post two days later. I opened it on my bedroom floor. Inside, there were some small rubber patches, special glue, and two plastic tools. At first, I felt a bit worried. I had never fixed a bicycle before, and there were no instructions in the box.
I decided to find a helpful video online. The video showed me exactly what to do. First, I used the plastic tools to take the tire off the wheel. Then, I put the inner tube in a bowl of water to find the hole. When I saw bubbles, I knew where it was. I carefully dried the rubber, put some glue on it, and added the patch.
After waiting ten minutes, I put the tire back on my bike and filled it with air. I waited a few hours to check it, and it was still hard! The next morning, I rode to school without any problems. I felt really proud because I learned a new skill and saved some money.
