The Teenager Baking for the Hospital

Fifteen-year-old Sam had a bad accident last winter. He fell while he was playing football and broke his arm. He had to stay in the local hospital for a week. While he was there, he saw that the toys in the children’s ward were very old and boring. The young patients had nothing fun to do, so Sam decided to help them.

Sam is really good at cooking, especially sweet things. He decided to make lots of cakes and biscuits and sell them at his high school’s sports day. His mother helped him to pay for sugar, eggs, and chocolate, but Sam did all the work in the kitchen by himself. He spent his whole weekend baking.

However, his headteacher told everyone about Sam’s project using a microphone. Suddenly, a big crowd of hungry students arrived, and Sam sold everything in an hour!

The Teenager Growing Food for Her Street
