A Special Project for Snowball
Last Friday, thirteen-year-old Lily got a beautiful new pet rabbit. She called him Snowball. When she put him in his cage, she saw that he didn’t have a comfortable bed. Because the weather was getting colder, she decided to spend her weekend making a warm place for him to sleep.
On Saturday morning, Lily went to the local pet shop with her father. They looked at the beds there, but the nice ones were very expensive. Lily didn’t want to spend all her pocket money. Instead, she just bought some soft blankets and decided to find some old wood at home to build her own.
In the afternoon, Lily started working in the garden. She found a perfect wooden box, but it was too big. Her older brother, Tom, helped her cut the wood because it was too difficult for her to do alone. After that, Lily painted the box a beautiful bright blue, which is her favourite colour.
Finally, on Sunday morning, the paint was dry. Lily put the box inside the cage and added the soft blankets. Snowball immediately jumped inside and went to sleep. Lily was extremely happy that her rabbit loved it. Next weekend, she plans to use the rest of the wood to make some fun toys for him.
