Leo’s Amazing Science Holiday

Fifteen-year-old Leo loves science. Last week, he travelled to Da Lat to join a special summer camp. Usually, teenagers play sports or video games on holiday. However, Leo wanted to learn about rocks and the weather.

On the first day, the teachers talked about the weather. They showed the students how to measure the rain and wind. Leo worked with a partner to build a small weather station. It rained quite hard that afternoon, so they tested their station immediately. Leo thought this activity was absolutely brilliant.

The next morning, the group went for a long walk in the forest. Their guide asked them to collect different kinds of stones. Leo found a dark, heavy rock near a beautiful waterfall. Back at the camp, they looked at the rocks under a microscope. Leo was surprised to see tiny gold pieces inside his rock.

The science camp finished on Friday. Leo was extremely sad to leave his new friends. He packed his bag and took his favourite rock home as a souvenir. Now, he wants to read more books about the environment. He hopes to become a scientist and return to the camp as a teacher one day.

Helping Nature on a School Trip

Fifteen-year-old Liam loves science and being outdoors. Last month, his teacher, Mr. Davies, took his class on a school trip to a large forest. The students didn’t go there to relax or take photos. They went to do an important environmental project. Liam was very excited about spending three days in nature.

On the first morning, Mr. Davies gave the students their tasks. Liam’s group had to clean up a dirty river. Other students had to check the health of the trees. A Walk Through the Past

My name is Mark, and I am fifteen years old. I always liked science and math, but history was my worst subject at school. I thought reading long books and remembering old dates was very boring. Last month, my teacher, Mr. Jones, told us about a special weekend history tour in an old city near our town. He said it could help us with our lessons.

On Saturday morning, we arrived at the city square. Our tour guide, Peter, didn’t just stand there and talk. He was wearing clothes from hundreds of years ago! He took us through narrow streets and showed us exactly where famous people lived. It was much more interesting than sitting in a classroom.

In the afternoon, we visited a large, dark castle. Peter let us hold some real ancient objects. I touched a heavy metal sword and a silver cup. Suddenly, the stories from my school books made sense. The history of the city didn’t feel like a difficult lesson anymore. It felt like an exciting adventure movie!

When I went back to school on Monday, everything was different. We had a history test, and I knew all the answers. I got an A, and Mr. Jones was very happy. Now, I love history, and I am reading a new book about kings and queens. I cannot wait for our next class trip!
