Leo’s Big Meeting
Sixteen-year-old Leo loves his hometown, but recently he felt very worried. He saw too much plastic in the local river and dirty streets near his school. He knew that adults usually make the rules, but he believed teenagers should also help to protect the environment.
One evening, Leo decided to take action. He wrote an email to the local politicians and invited them to his school. Then, he asked his classmates for some help. They spent the weekend working together to make a long list of green ideas. They also took photographs of the dirty areas in their town to show the visitors.
On the day of the meeting, the students were quite nervous. Five important politicians arrived at the school hall. Leo stood up and showed the photographs on a large screen. After that, his friends shared their brilliant ideas. They asked for more rubbish bins on the streets and suggested planting new trees in the city centre.
The politicians listened carefully to the young people. The town leader was very happy and agreed to begin working on the students’ ideas immediately.
