Learning to Care for My Clothes

My name is Leo, and I am fifteen years old. I always like wearing nice clothes. However, last month, I made a big mistake. I put my favourite green wool sweater in the washing machine with hot water. When I took it out, it was so small! After that, I decided to learn how to wash different materials properly.

I asked my grandmother for some help because she knows everything about housework. First, she taught me how to read the little labels inside my t-shirts. She explained that cotton clothes often need cool water. If you wash them in hot water, they can change size. I also learned to wash dark clothes and light clothes separately.

Next, my grandmother showed me how to care for wool. Wool is very difficult to wash. You must use a special, gentle soap, and you should never put it in the drying machine.
