Reading Digital Fashion Magazines

Mia

I read a digital fashion magazine called ‘Style Now’. I usually look at it on my phone when I am on the bus to school. It is completely free, so I never use my pocket money for it! The writers talk a lot about modern lifestyle trends. I don’t really care about the lives of movie stars, so I skip those pages. Instead, I love the funny stories about teenage life. When I find a really good one, I always pass the web links to my classmates so we can talk about it later.

Oliver

My favourite online magazine is ‘Modern Youth’. It costs a few pounds a month, but my parents pay for it. The best section is about big musicians and TV stars and the amazing jackets or shoes they have on. However, the magazine also shows you how to dress well in normal life. I get great ideas for comfortable things to put on for school or the park. I prefer looking at the pages in my bedroom because I get sick if I stare at my screen in the car.

Sofia

I subscribe to a digital magazine called ‘Trend Report’. It is full of fantastic fashion photos. My friends prefer reading about makeup, but I love learning about how things are created. It is fascinating to read about the materials used to put beautiful dresses together. The clothes they show are often very expensive, not just simple things for walking in the city. I really hope the editors start giving more tips on shopping without using too much pocket money. That would make the magazine absolutely perfect for teenagers like me.

Digital Fan-Art

Leo

I love making digital pictures of my favourite heroes from action films. I don’t really like films that make people laugh. I use a big tablet for my art because the screen on my smartphone is too small. My younger brother loves doing this too, so we always sit and paint together after school. My favourite thing to do is design new jackets and shoes for the characters, because they always have the same things on in the movies! My tablet was quite expensive, but I don’t ask people to pay for my art.

Mia

Making digital fan-art is my favourite hobby. My sister prefers drawing scary monsters, but I only paint actors from funny movies. I don’t have a computer, so I just use an app on my phone to do all my drawing. It is very easy! When I want to get better at painting faces, I usually find classes on video websites. They are really helpful. I entered a school art contest last month. I didn’t get a prize, but it was fun to show my work to other students.

Sam

I spend hours drawing my favourite movie characters on my laptop. I always draw them exactly like they look on TV, with their normal dresses and hats. When a picture is completely finished, I put it on a special website. Sometimes, fans like my drawings so much that they buy them from me! Last year, I sent one of my best character paintings to a national art event, and I was so happy when I got the top reward! I don’t need to watch online lessons because my art teacher helps me.

Online Pop Culture Quizzes

Max

I love online pop culture quizzes! I usually log in on Saturdays and Sundays because I have more free time then. I often play against teenagers from other countries, not my mates from town. I’m actually terrible at the rounds about famous singers, but I always understand facts I didn’t know before the game finishes. Last week, I was doing really well until my computer mouse broke and I couldn’t click the answers! It was so annoying, but I still love playing.

Chloe

My favourite hobby is doing internet trivia about famous actors and films. I don’t play on Saturdays; we usually play on Tuesday evenings. I always make a team with some girls from my class. We really want to beat the others! Even though it is just a game and we don’t receive any presents for being number one, I still feel very nervous just before we see the first puzzle. Once the game begins, I just laugh and have a brilliant time.

Sam

I do online trivia challenges every week. Some people feel worried when they play, but I am always relaxed. My smartphone never stops working, so I can tap the screen really fast! My favourite rounds are the ones about famous bands. If they ask us to guess a pop track, I always get the right choice. We don’t just play for fun. The best part is getting cool rewards, like free cinema tickets, when our group gets the most points.
