Smart Tracking Tags
Leo
I use a smart tag for my sports bag. I got it because it was quite cheap. The best thing is the sound it makes. When I can’t find my bag in my bedroom, I use my phone to make the tag ring, and it is really easy to hear! However, the power doesn’t last very long. I have to change it every two months, which is annoying. Also, you have to be careful not to drop it in water, because it will break.
Samira
I always lose my house keys, so my aunt gave me a smart tag for my birthday. I love it! It has a nice blue cover, but I didn’t buy it for that reason. It is amazing because it shows me exactly where my keys are on a map. Last week, I left them at the town library, and my phone showed me exactly where to go to get them back. The tag doesn’t make a big sound, but the map is all I need.
Toby
I bought a smart tag for my winter coat. I didn’t mind paying a lot of cash for it because it is excellent quality. I looked at many tags, but I bought this one because it is a cool star shape. It looks great on my jacket! Yesterday, I left my coat outside in the heavy rain. I was worried the tag was broken, but there was no problem at all! The battery is fantastic too, as I haven’t changed it since last year.

Digital Alarms and Reminders
Maya
I use my smartphone all the time to organise my day. I have a loud ringtone for waking up in the morning, and a softer song for when it’s time to do my homework. Knowing what each sound means is really useful. Also, when it gets late, my mobile rings to tell me to turn off my computer and go to bed. Looking at screens keeps me awake, so this helps me get a good night’s rest. I share my bedroom with my older sister, so she sometimes hears my alarms too. I don’t use reminders to give the dog his meals, though. My sister does that!
Ben
Setting digital reminders has completely changed my life. I always forget to have enough water, so my app tells me to go and get a glass every two hours. It is great for my body! At five o’clock, another message pops up telling me it is the cat’s dinner time. I never forget his food now. However, I am quite bad at charging my phone at night. When the battery is completely empty, none of my alerts work! I don’t use my phone to wake up for my school classes, because my mum always calls me downstairs for breakfast.
Chloe
I love using the calendar on my phone. My most important alarm goes off at half past seven every morning. Because of this, I always catch the bus and arrive at my classroom before the teacher starts talking. I also write digital lists for the supermarket, and the best part is that my mum and dad can open and read them on their devices too. It makes shopping much easier for our family. I just use a normal ringing sound for all my alerts. I rest very well at night, so I don’t need my phone to tell me when to close my eyes!

Using GPS Maps in a New City
Anna
Last week, I visited Rome. I always use my tablet to find my way. My favourite thing about my map app is that I can save the city plans before I leave my hotel room. This means I can look at them later even when I have no Wi-Fi connection. I also love checking the map to see where I can buy great pizzas and cakes near me! I tried taking the bus once, but I didn’t enjoy it. Sometimes the screen is hard to see in the sun, but I don’t use the audio directions because they are too quiet.
David
I went to Berlin with my family. I put a smart map on my phone. Because I was driving our rented car, I couldn’t look at the display safely. Instead, I turned the volume up so the phone could tell me when to turn left or right. It was usually very helpful! But one day, the program took a long time to find my location. Because of this, I drove down the incorrect street. Luckily, I had a cable in the car, so my phone didn’t turn off. We eventually found a nice café without the app.
Maria
I recently travelled to Paris. The GPS map on my phone was amazing for getting around the huge city. It told me exactly which underground train to get on and what time it would arrive at the station. I think the program is much more helpful when you are exploring by walking, rather than sitting in a car. I didn’t go the wrong way because the map was always fast. However, using the app all day uses a lot of battery. By the afternoon, my mobile went completely dead and wouldn’t switch on again! Next time, I will bring a charger.
