Re-taking the Exam

Lucas

I had a terrible high temperature on the morning of our science exam. My mum gave me some tablets, and soon I was ready to go back to school. Mr. Harris was very kind and let me review my notes for three more days before I tried again. That really helped! When the day finally came, I sat at a desk with two other boys who also missed the date. I actually achieved an amazing result, which made me very proud.

Emma

I couldn’t go to school on the exam day because of a bad cough. I visited the hospital, but I just needed rest. When I came back, the teacher told me I had to do it the very next morning. Because another class was using our normal space, I had to sit in the library instead. There was nobody else doing the paper with me. It was very quiet! Unfortunately, I think the questions were much more difficult than the ones my classmates answered on the main day.

Tom

The evening before our big maths test, I ate some strange fish and my tummy hurt all night. I couldn’t sleep, so I stayed in bed the next day. When I finally returned, I took the test after school. I sat in my usual chair in the classroom while the teacher watched me. It wasn’t a new paper, just the exact same one everyone else did. Even though it wasn’t harder, I wasn’t very happy with my final mark. I usually do much better than that!

Organizing Study Notes

Jake

I started organizing my notes last year. My parents bought me a beautiful set of pens for my birthday, and they are great! Some students like to have a different colour for math, history, and science, but I prefer to keep things simple. I just use red and blue ink when I study. I don’t like carrying a heavy pencil case, either. Using these makes studying for big exams much easier, but I don’t have a special way of marking the most important facts.

Lisa

I love making my notebooks look pretty! I ordered my favourite pens from a website because they are cheaper than in the shops. I have a great system for my studies. I choose a new color for every lesson. For example, science is green, math is blue, and geography is orange! When the teacher says something is going to be on our next exam, I always write those facts in pink. My brother wanted to borrow them, but I said no because he usually loses things!

Taro

I love bright notebooks, so I never use just one or two colours. My school bag is always heavy because I pack about twenty different pens! I bought them at the supermarket in town with my own pocket money. They weren’t a gift. Because I have so many, I am always happy to give them to my classmates if they forget theirs. I just ask them to return everything at the end of the day. It really helps everyone make better notes for our homework.

Online Research for Science Class

Tom

Our science project is about the moon. I started looking for facts on Saturday morning, so I didn’t stay awake in the dark to do it. At first, my home Wi-Fi stopped working completely, which was really annoying! I couldn’t get online for an hour. When it finally connected, I tried watching some clips, but they were too difficult to understand. Then, my older sister gave me the name of a brilliant webpage. It had everything I needed! I finished my slides before dinner.

Bella

I was quite stressed about our chemistry presentation. My brother usually helps me, but he was busy. I looked at a few websites, but I have to be careful. I actually read an article that said water boils at fifty degrees, which is a total mistake! You cannot trust everything online. Luckily, I eventually found a short film on a science channel. The person talking made the whole subject so simple to learn. I didn’t even need to open my textbook!

Chris

I am doing my presentation on plants. Normally, I get heavy paper texts from the school library because I don’t like reading on a computer screen very much. However, the library was closed! I had to search online instead. It took a long time to find good facts. In fact, I was awake until midnight preparing my slides! When I finally discovered a fantastic site with perfect photos of trees, I copied the link and emailed it to all my friends in the class.
