Travelling to School

Lucas

I catch the 7:15 train to school every morning. My friend Tom usually gets on at the next stop, so we talk. I never close my eyes on the train because I love watching the fields and buildings pass by. It’s a very fast journey and the train is never delayed. However, when I finally arrive at the railway station, I have to go on foot for twenty minutes to reach my classroom. It’s good exercise, but it’s quite tiring when it rains!

Maya

I take the bus to school. I always go with my older sister because we study at the same place. The bus stop is very close to our house, so we don’t use our legs much! The only problem is that the traffic is often bad, so we sometimes arrive behind schedule. I don’t look outside much because I usually read my homework. One good thing is that we only pay half the money for our trip because we are under eighteen.

Chloe

I use the underground to get to my classes in the city centre. It is quite expensive, even for teenagers, but it is very fast. The trains come every three minutes, so I never wait long. Because everyone goes to work at the same time, the carriages are always full of passengers. I usually have to stand! If I am lucky and find an empty place, I usually shut my eyes and dream for a quarter of an hour before I have to get off.

Everyday Clothes

Hana

My favorite brand is Zara. I wear their t-shirts and jeans from Monday to Friday when I am learning at school because they are so comfortable. Their clothes are never boring; I love the bright yellows and red sweaters they sell, as I hate dark colors. I usually go to the big shop in town with my mum because I don’t like buying things on a computer screen. I always wait for their special holiday offers because everything is much cheaper then, which helps me save my pocket money. My sister wants to borrow my jackets, but they are too big for her.

Lucas

I really like buying clothes from Uniqlo. We have to wear a strict uniform to school, so I can only wear these clothes at the weekend when I relax. They use amazing material that keeps me cool during hot summer afternoons. The clothes can be quite expensive, and they never have sales, but the quality is great. I hate going to the mall and standing in long lines at the shop. Because of this, I always order my t-shirts and shorts on my smartphone using their website. It is much quicker!

Elena

For me, H&M is the best brand. Their clothes are not expensive, but they are made very well and are very strong. Even after I wash my jeans many times, they do not tear or break. Most of their clothes are dark blue or gray, which is perfect for me. My cousin lives near me and we are the same size, so I often let her wear my sweaters and skirts when she visits. She loves ordering things online, but I prefer going to the store to try things on first.

Buying New Running Shoes

Ben

I run about twenty kilometres a week. Because I run so much, I always pick up a fresh pair of trainers in January. I like to start the new year with good equipment. I go to the sports centre by myself, and I never use my computer to shop for them. It is important to talk to the assistant to make sure they fit perfectly on my feet. I usually choose black or grey ones because they don’t look dirty quickly. Also, I don’t care about the name on the box. I try different brands like Puma or Adidas to see which feels best.

Anna

When my running shoes get too old, I prefer to visit a large sports store near my house. My brother usually drives me there and helps me choose. I try to find a pair on special offer because I am a student and can’t pay a high price. I know some people like simple designs, but I always want trainers that are yellow, orange, or green. That way, cars can spot me quickly when I go for a run in the evening. Nike makes some great styles, but I will buy any make if they 

feel comfortable for a long jog.

Chris

For my feet, there is only Nike. I refuse to put on anything else for my daily runs! I know my shoe size perfectly, so I don’t need to visit the mall or ask anyone in a store to tell me what to do. Instead, I just use my laptop to get them from a popular sports website, and they arrive at my door two days later. They cost a lot, but they are fantastic quality. I get new ones about twice a year, maybe in spring and then again in autumn. I usually go for white ones, even though they get dirty fast.
