Summer Holiday Routines

Felix

During the school year, I have to get up at seven o’clock, but in July and August, I never leave my bed before 9:30 a.m.! We aren’t travelling to another country this time, but I am never bored. I love the ocean, so every afternoon, my uncle drives me to the coast and we go surfing together. I am already quite good at it, so I don’t need lessons. In the evenings, my mates are usually away on trips with their parents, so I just stay at home and watch television or play video games.

Clara

My routine changes completely in the summer! Next month, my parents and I are flying to Spain for two weeks. I can’t wait! Right now, I am spending my mornings practicing a fresh hobby. My brother is teaching me how to play the guitar. It is difficult, but very fun. I help my mum clean the house, but she doesn’t give me any money for it. I don’t look at any textbooks or novels during the holidays. Instead, after dinner, I always walk to the town centre to hang out with my school mates.

Omar

I don’t have time to sleep late during my holiday. I have to be at a local café at 8:00 a.m. because I wash dishes there three mornings a week. I really like having my own money to buy things! In the afternoons, I usually go to the park and play football outside with my classmates. When I get home, I like to be quiet. I often visit the town library to get some novels, and I sit in my bedroom turning the pages until it is time to turn off the light and sleep.
