Getting ready for school

Liam

It usually takes me about an hour to get ready for school. The biggest problem is my older brother. He takes very long showers, so I always have to stand outside the bathroom door until he finishes! Because of this, I try to save time in other ways. For example, I put all my books and pens in my backpack before I go to sleep. That really helps. I don’t eat quickly in the morning because I love food. I usually sit down and enjoy a big bowl of cereal and some toast before I leave the house.

Maya

I start my morning at six o’clock. I don’t actually have to leave the house until half past seven, but I hate rushing. I like having extra time in my room. I always play some pop songs on my phone while I get dressed. It gives me energy for the day! I never spend time thinking about what to put on because everyone at my school wears a uniform. I don’t spend much time eating, either. I usually just take an apple or a banana from the kitchen and eat it while I walk to the bus stop.

Chloe

Getting ready is hard for me, and I am not very good at doing things quickly! I don’t have to wear a uniform, so I spend ages looking in my wardrobe. I usually try on three different T-shirts and pairs of trousers before I decide what looks best. Because of this, I never have time to turn on the radio or watch TV. I also have to pack my school bag in the morning, which takes even more time. The teachers are often angry with me because I arrive in the classroom after the lesson starts!

Evening Habits

Liam

When my school projects are done, I immediately leave my room. I don’t stay indoors. Instead, I usually go for a walk around the neighborhood with my dog. It is nice to breathe fresh air! Sometimes my dad comes with me, but we are usually quiet. After that, I go back inside and have a quick snack, like an apple. I don’t need to get my bag ready for the morning. Finally, I lie on my bed and put on some slow songs. Hearing my favorite bands makes me feel calm before I close my eyes.

Noah

As soon as I close my schoolbooks, I run downstairs to the living room. I always sit on the sofa and chat with my parents about our day. It is my favorite part of the evening! We sometimes hear pop songs on the radio while we speak. Later, I turn on my television and enjoy a driving or sports video game for about an hour. I know some of my friends prefer to be outdoors, but I love my comfortable couch. I never open a novel at night because I am usually too tired from studying!

Emma

My evenings are quite busy, even after I finish writing my essays. First, I go to the kitchen to put my sandwiches and fruit in a box for tomorrow’s lunch. It saves me a lot of time in the morning! Then, I return to my room, find some space on the floor, and do a bit of yoga. Moving my body helps me feel great. I don’t play online matches with my classmates, though we sometimes text each other. Right before I turn off my lamp, I always enjoy a few chapters of a good story in bed.

Busy Monday Mornings

Leo

Monday mornings are really difficult for me. When my alarm rings at 6:30, I am always very sleepy and find it hard to get out of bed. To wake myself up, I usually go to the garden and jump or run around for ten minutes. I don’t need to pack my backpack because I always do that on Sunday night. Then, I sit down with my parents to have a large bowl of cereal. I never eat outside! Finally, I walk to school with two of my classmates.

Samira

I have a lot of energy at the beginning of the week! I wake up at seven o’clock and put on my normal school uniform. Every Monday morning, I spend a long time looking for my homework, notebooks, and pens to put inside my bag. Because this takes so long, I don’t have time to sit at the kitchen table for a meal. Instead, I grab an apple and eat it while I am walking to catch the bus. The journey takes thirty minutes, so I arrive just before the bell rings.

Toby

On Mondays, we have sports classes all morning. Because of this, I don’t put on my usual shirt and trousers. Instead, I get dressed in my shorts and a T-shirt. I don’t walk or take the bus to school like my friends. My father drives past the school on his way to his office, so I go in his car. He starts his job at 8:00 a.m., so he drops me off at 7:30 a.m. I am always in the classroom a long time before the teacher comes in!
