Sam’s Island Adventure
Fourteen-year-old Sam lives in a busy city in England. Last month, his parents decided to take him to a small island for the weekend. Sam felt very excited because it was his first time on a ferry. He was also a little nervous about feeling sick on the boat, but his dad told him not to worry.
On Saturday morning, they drove to the port and put their car onto the ship. Sam couldn’t believe how huge the ferry was. Inside, there was a large café and a fantastic games room. Instead of playing games, Sam stood outside. He loved feeling the wind on his face and watching the dark water.
The journey only took forty-five minutes. When they arrived, Sam thought the island looked beautiful. There were tall green hills and the water was incredibly clear. They didn’t go to the hotel immediately. First, the family rented bicycles to explore the narrow streets and look at the traditional old houses.

Jamie’s Sleepless Journey
Fifteen-year-old Jamie loves travelling. Last week, he took the overnight train to visit his grandparents in the north. He was very excited about the trip because he loves trains. He had a small bed in a cabin with three other people. However, he soon realised that sleeping on a train is not easy.
Jamie’s bed was quite comfortable, but the train was extremely noisy. Every time the train stopped at a station, the brakes made a terrible sound.
