Finding a Mistake in the Code

Alex

Making computer games is my favourite hobby. Yesterday, my new game suddenly stopped working, and I was very annoyed! I looked at my screen for a long time but couldn’t see the problem. I didn’t want to throw everything away and start from the beginning. So, I called my mate, Sam. He came to my house and looked at my work. After five minutes, he started laughing. I typed a ‘p’ where I needed a ‘b’! It was such a tiny detail, but it broke everything. I was so mad at myself!

Jamie

I am building a website for my IT class. I have to give it to the school next Tuesday, so it is really important. Last night, the pictures on the site didn’t show up. I was alone, and I couldn’t ask my classmates for advice because they were asleep. I didn’t go to bed until 3:00 a.m. because I wanted to fix it. My eyes were very tired! Finally, I saw the error. I put the wrong name for the picture file. It was a silly mistake, but I felt really happy when it worked.

Chris

Sometimes, writing computer programs is really difficult. Last weekend, my new app had a big problem. I looked carefully for a wrong word or a bad letter, but everything looked fine. I turned off the screen and went outside. I was walking to the supermarket when I suddenly knew how to fix it! I ran home. Instead of changing a few things, I put the old files in the bin and typed it all one more time. It took three hours, but it works perfectly now. My head is tired, so I will not look at a computer for the next seven days!
