Chloe’s Animal Club Dream

Fifteen-year-old Chloe has a very special idea. While her friends spend their free time watching movies or playing sports, Chloe wants to do something different. Her biggest dream is to start a school club where students make toys for animals living in local rescue shelters.

To prepare for this, Chloe spends her weekends getting ready. She doesn’t buy expensive things from the pet shop. Instead, she collects old T-shirts and tennis balls from her neighbours. She watches videos on the internet to learn how to cut and tie the material to make safe, strong toys for dogs and cats to play with.

Last month, Chloe finally asked her headteacher if she could start the “Happy Pets Club”. At first, she was worried that nobody would want to join. However, she put posters around the school, and twenty students came to the first meeting! They had a lot of fun together and made fifty toys for the animals.

Next year, Chloe is going to organize a trip to the shelter so the club members can give the toys to the animals themselves. She knows that running a school group takes a lot of time and hard work, but she is excited to help the animals feel loved while they wait for new homes.
