Writing Bad Reviews Online

Toby

I bought a new video game from an electronics shop. The worker in the shop was quite friendly, but it took almost three weeks for the package to arrive at my house! I was very angry because they promised to deliver it in two days. I went on their website and typed a very unhappy text about the slow delivery. A few days later, they called to apologise to me. Because they said sorry, I decided to delete what I wrote. I didn’t get any extra games from them, but I am glad they listened.

Last week, I ordered a vegetarian pizza online, but the delivery driver gave me one with chicken instead. When I called the restaurant to fix it, the person on the phone spoke to me in a very angry voice and didn’t help me at all. I was so upset that I left a one-star score on their page. I will never remove it! Yesterday, the owner of the restaurant sent me an email. He said sorry for his worker’s terrible behaviour. He asked me to visit his restaurant again, but I don’t want to.

Zack

I love eating out, and I often type five-star reviews for cafes that serve delicious meals. However, a new burger place opened near my school recently, and the food was awful. The meat was cold, and the chips were burnt. The waiter was very nice, but I still left a bad comment online about the cooking. The next day, the café invited me back and gave me a massive dinner for zero dollars. The food was much better the second time, but I still think their kitchen needs to improve.

Buying Vintage Clothes Online

Maya

I love searching for cool old jackets on the internet. Last week, I ordered a fantastic 1980s coat for my own wardrobe. I usually buy things quickly without sending any messages to the owner. When the postman brought the package, the coat looked exactly like the photos, but it wasn’t wide enough for my shoulders. Also, one button was missing, and there was a small hole on the arm. I had to get a needle and fix it myself! Still, it was very cheap, so I am quite happy with it.

Ben

I use auction websites all the time. I recently found a nice vintage sweater. I wanted to pay £15, but another buyer really wanted it too. Finally, it cost me £30, which was quite expensive for my wallet! The box was at my door just two days later. The wool is very old, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. However, I was shocked when I opened it. On the website, the jumper looked bright red, but in real life, it is actually dark orange!

Chloe

Last month, I was looking for a special birthday gift for my best friend. I found a lovely 1990s dress on an auction site. Before I pay, I always write an email to the shop to check the measurements and the material. The seller was very friendly. I got a brilliant price, but because the seller lived in another country, it took nearly a month to get here! I started to worry it wouldn’t come. Luckily, my friend loved it, and it fitted her perfectly!

Visiting the Local Tailor

Alice

Last month, I had a huge hole in my favourite party dress. I was so sad! I took it to Mr. Rossi, the new tailor in town. He sewed it up beautifully, and now it looks brand new. While I was there, I couldn’t decide what to wear over it for the event. He gave me some fantastic tips and told me which jacket matched it perfectly. His work was quite expensive, but he is a true artist. My dress wasn’t too long, so he didn’t need to cut anything off the bottom.

Ben

I needed a smart shirt for a school concert. I bought a new one, but it was too big around the middle. Luckily, the tailor’s store is just at the end of my street, so I walked there. It is brilliant that he opens his doors on Sunday mornings, because I am busy at school all week. I left the shirt with him, and I didn’t have to wait days for it. It was ready in just two hours! He didn’t need to tell me how to wear it, he just made it fit perfectly.

Clara

I found some amazing trousers at a market, but when I tried them on, they touched the floor. I took them to a tailor to cut some material off the bottoms so I wouldn’t step on them. I had to catch a bus across town to get to his shop, but I’m glad I did. Because he only asked for a few pounds for the work, his bill was really small! It saved me a lot of money. However, he was very busy, so I had to leave them there for over a week before collecting them.
