Time to Upgrade Our Theater
Marcus
I am an actor and I love our town’s little theater. I have performed here for a long time, but we really must change our technology. When I am acting, the lamps above my head are like a fire. I sweat so much and it is very uncomfortable! Also, the audio system makes strange noises. I am always quite nervous that it will simply turn off in the middle of a song. Some people think we just need to repair things, but getting brand new stuff is much better.
Elena
I buy tickets for every play because my daughter is an actress. The building is beautiful and always warm in winter, but the shows have big problems. Last weekend, I went to a musical, but the stage was almost completely black. It was impossible to know who was singing! Also, the speakers are terrible. It is very hard to catch the conversations from the seats at the back of the room. The managers must get a different system so we can enjoy the stories properly.
David
I am the manager of this wonderful place. We bought our audio and visual machines thirty years ago! They are definitely not modern anymore. Every month, a mechanic comes to fix the broken speakers and lights. We pay him thousands of pounds every year, which is just too expensive! I hear complaints from the actors sometimes. If we get beautiful, bright lamps and a clear audio system, I am sure the crowds will grow. More guests will buy seats to see our amazing shows!

Park Concert
Ryan
I went to the big public park on Saturday with my classmates. I asked my sister to come, but she was busy. We bought some nice burgers from a fast-food truck there. The band played really well, but my ears hurt because the sound was just too big. Then, dark clouds appeared and it started raining heavily. We didn’t have umbrellas, so we decided to walk back to our houses while the singers were still on stage. It was a shame we missed the last few songs!
Chloe
Last weekend, my friends and I stayed at the park until the very last song. The sun shone all afternoon, so we were quite hot and comfortable. We stood near the back of the large crowd. Unluckily, there were lots of tall adults in front of me, so I mostly just watched the big televisions instead of the real band. I really loved the loud guitar sounds, though! The best part was that my entry pass was a birthday gift from my aunt, so it cost me zero pounds.
Jamal
The open-air show was amazing! I went with my older cousin because he loves rock music, and we had a fantastic time together. The tickets were actually quite expensive, but it was worth it. We got to the park early, so we stood right at the front and could see everything perfectly. Before the band started, we sat on the green grass and enjoyed the chicken sandwiches and fruit my mum made for us in our kitchen. It was a wonderful evening.

Touring the Underground Castle Dungeon
Tom
I took my young sons to see the castle dungeon. We went deep underground, and it was very cold down there! If you go, make sure you remember a warm coat. The guide knew a few dates from the past, but he was quite serious and didn’t smile much. During the walk, they played recordings of strange voices in the dark. I was very frightened by the sounds, though my children thought it was great. We stayed for an hour, which was plenty of time.
Sara
I didn’t think the dungeon was scary at all. It was actually very quiet, and I never felt afraid. I wore a heavy sweater because it is usually cold underground, but I got really hot and had to carry it! Our guide was excellent and explained everything clearly. I found out so many things about how people lived in the castle hundreds of years ago. It was a fantastic experience, even though we had to pay a lot of money to get in.
David
My friends and I bought our tickets online, which were quite cheap. I am an adult, but I still screamed a little when I saw a large plastic spider in the dark! The man showing us around was absolutely brilliant. He told great jokes and told the stories in a very funny way. We had a fantastic time listening to him. The only bad thing was that the walk was over in just thirty minutes. I really wanted to stay longer!
