A Weekend by the Lake
My name is Oliver and I am a 15-year-old student. I usually spend my weekends inside, playing video games with my friends. So, when my dad said we were going camping near a large lake, I wasn’t very happy. I didn’t want to sleep in a tent.
We drove for two hours to reach Silver Lake. When we arrived, we put up our tent near the water. There were no other people there, just lots of tall trees. I tried to send a message to my friends, but my mobile phone didn’t work because there was no internet. At first, I felt bored.
However, things changed in the evening. We cooked dinner over a small fire and sat outside in the dark. In the city, I always hear cars and loud music. But at the lake, the sounds were different. I could hear the wind in the trees and frogs near the water. It was incredibly peaceful, and I actually loved listening to nature.
The next morning, I woke up early at 6 a.m. I walked out of the tent and took some amazing photos of the sun over the water. I am going back to school tomorrow, but I feel very relaxed. I have already asked my dad to take me camping again next month!
