Practising for the Road on a Screen
Sixteen-year-old Toby has always loved cars. He cannot wait to get his driving licence, but in his country, you have to be seventeen to drive. Because he was so interested in driving, his parents bought him a special racing simulator video game for his birthday last month. It came with a digital steering wheel and pedals.
When Toby first got the game, he played it like a normal racing game. He tried to go as fast as possible and often crashed his digital car. One evening, his father watched him play. He told Toby that he should use the simulator to learn how to drive safely, not just for going fast.
