Mark’s Clever Travel Plan

Fifteen-year-old Mark loves spending time in nature. Next weekend, he is going on a hiking trip to a huge national park with his parents. Last summer, the family had a terrible experience there. They walked for hours without a map and got completely lost. Mark wanted to make sure that didn’t happen again.

The biggest problem in the national park is the internet. When you are walking high up in the mountains, your smartphone often has no signal. Mark knew he couldn’t use normal websites to find his way. So, he decided to look for a different way to guide his family safely.

The day before the trip, Mark found an excellent travel app on his phone. He used his fast home wi-fi to download offline maps of the whole forest. He spent an hour looking at the screen and putting red marks on the best walking paths and a nice quiet lake for their picnic.

The family’s weekend trip was fantastic. Because of Mark’s downloaded maps, they always knew exactly where they were. His dad was incredibly happy because they didn’t lose their way once. Finding the Best Holiday Spots

Leo is fifteen years old and loves travelling with his family. Next month, they are going to visit Rome for a week. Usually, his parents buy thick guidebooks to plan their holidays. They like visiting famous museums and taking photos of popular buildings. However, Leo thinks these places are often too crowded and a bit boring.

Instead of reading his parents’ guidebooks, Leo has a different hobby. He spends hours on his laptop reading travel blogs written by young explorers. He wants to find secret places in the city that normal tourists never visit. Last week, he found an article about a beautiful, quiet park and a tiny rooftop cafe hidden in a small street.

When the family finally arrived in Rome, his parents wanted to see the Colosseum first. They waited in a really long line for two hours! The next day, Leo asked them to follow him. He took them away from the busy centre to the tiny rooftop cafe he read about online. There were no tourists there at all.

The Perfect Packing Plan

My name is Toby, and I am a student. Next weekend, my class is going on a photography trip to the mountains. I am very excited, but I am also a bit worried. Last year, we went to the zoo, and I completely forgot to bring my camera! I had to use my smartphone, and the pictures were terrible.

Because of that mistake, I decided to make a packing checklist this time. A checklist is a great way to remember everything. I got a piece of paper and wrote down clothes, a warm jacket, and some snacks. At the top of the page, in very big letters, I wrote ‘camera’ and ‘charger’. I didn’t want a dead battery in the mountains!

On Thursday evening, I started putting things into my bag. I found my charger and put it inside immediately. Then, I put a line through the word on my list. However, I didn’t pack my camera right away. I left it on my desk because I wanted to take a picture of my cat, Luna, the next morning.

On Friday morning, I looked at my checklist one last time before leaving for school. I saw that the word ‘camera’ was not crossed out. I quickly ran to my desk, picked it up, and put it in my backpack. Thanks to my list, I had everything I needed for a great trip!
