The Teenager Playing Football for a Good Cause

Sixteen-year-old Leo spends all his free time playing football. He usually plays at the local youth club with his friends. Recently, the club’s building had a problem with its roof. It was very old and needed fixing, but the club didn’t have enough money. Leo decided to organise a football match to collect cash for the repairs.

Leo wanted the game to be exciting, so he didn’t want to play against another school. Instead, he walked into the town’s police station and asked the officers to play against his teenage team. He felt quite nervous, but the police chief loved the idea and quickly agreed to form a team.

Before the match, Leo’s team practised in the park every evening. Leo also had to sell tickets, so he spent hours making colourful posters. His classmates took the posters and put them in the windows of local shops. Soon, everyone in town knew about the game.
