Walking in Nature

Leo

I love walking in the hills, but I always make sure I don’t hurt the environment. Last Saturday, I stayed on the hard grey stones the whole time. I didn’t step on the green areas because I didn’t want to break the small plants under my feet. While I was exploring, I saw some amazing colourful leaves and unique stones. I really wanted to put them in my pocket to keep, but I decided they belong in the forest. I didn’t see any plastic bottles on the ground, which was great. I took lots of photos of the birds, but unfortunately, my camera made a loud noise!

Mia

Before my trip to the woods, I spent ten minutes cleaning the mud off my walking shoes. I didn’t want to bring any strange seeds or dirt from town into the wild area. During the walk, I ate a sandwich and an apple. There were no bins to put my empty food wrappers in, so I carried them in my backpack until I got back to my own kitchen. I also saw a family of deer. To avoid scaring them away, I didn’t speak or make any sounds. I just watched them peacefully. I didn’t find any old rubbish from other visitors, so the place looked lovely.

Noah

It is very important to me to keep nature clean. Yesterday, I went for a long walk by the river. It was a hot day, so I needed a lot of water. I didn’t buy a plastic bottle from the shop; I just filled my metal cup from home so I wouldn’t make more waste. Sadly, the path was quite dirty. I spent an hour putting empty crisp packets and sweet wrappers into a bag. It wasn’t my mess, but I wanted the ground to look nice again! When I finished, my boots were very dirty, so I washed them in the garden later.
