Mountain Views
Leo
Walking up the mountain took four hours and my legs were really tired, but when I finally got to the top, I forgot all about the hard work! Looking down, there were some wild horses eating grass on the lower hills. I wanted to use my camera to remember it, but I left it at home. It was getting late, so the clouds above were painted in amazing pinks and oranges. My friend told me you can sometimes spot our town from up there, but it was too cloudy below to find it.
Maya
We reached the highest point just after midday. The sky was completely blue, without a single cloud. I hoped to see some eagles, but there were no birds around. However, the scenery was still fantastic. Right at the bottom of the valley, a long line of water travelled through the trees. Also, I could clearly see a tiny bridge crossing it, looking like a toy from so high up. My brother got a lot of great images on his phone, while I just sat and enjoyed the quiet moment.
Sam
Our trip to the top of the mountain wasn’t very difficult because we drove most of the way. When we finally stepped out of the car, I couldn’t believe the distance I was looking at. I could look across whole forests and even catch sight of the ocean miles away, which I didn’t expect at all! I made sure to use my mobile to save lots of images of the beautiful scenery so I could show my grandparents later. We looked for the famous lake that is usually there, but it was completely dry.

The Secret Cave
Toby
I went to the waterfall with Mia and Leo. Leo noticed a hole behind the falling water, so we went inside. It was very dark. I actually left my flashlight in my bedroom, so I couldn’t see anything. I usually love adventures, but this time I was quite frightened! I kept thinking we would get lost in the black space. Mia said she saw an animal, but I didn’t look. I just wanted to leave. I was wearing a thick coat, so I didn’t get wet like the others. I know they loved it, but I never want to return!
Mia
Walking behind the waterfall to enter the dark rock was amazing! I remembered to pack a large lamp in my bag, so it was easy to see everything. Toby didn’t like it and wanted to go home, but I wasn’t afraid at all. While we were looking around the rocks, I looked up and noticed a large bat sleeping on the ceiling. I wanted to make some photos of it, but my camera stopped working! Even without photos, it was the best day ever. I am planning to come back to the same spot next weekend!
Leo
We were walking near the river when I saw a strange shadow behind the waterfall. I went closer and realized it was a hidden room in the rocks. I am so glad I found it before my friends did! There were no birds or insects inside, just beautiful rocks. To go inside, we had to walk right through the falling water. My jeans and sweater were completely soaked! When we finished our adventure, I had to put on dry trousers and a clean t-shirt. Before we left, I used my smartphone to get some great shots of the walls.

Walking in the Forest
Oliver
My town is very busy, so I love escaping to the thick, green woods. I always go as soon as the sun comes up, while everyone else is still in bed. It is completely quiet there. You cannot hear any traffic or loud machines, only the wind. I always bring a map so I don’t get lost on the paths. Sometimes I bring my camera to get pictures of the unusual leaves, but the best part is just enjoying the silence. I usually go alone because my brother doesn’t like waking up so soon.
Mia
When I walk among the thick, green plants, my mind stops worrying. Breathing in the sweet air from the flowers and wet earth helps me rest after a hard day at school. My uncle gave me a great camera, so I always try to catch images of the birds and small insects I find. I never carry a map with me. I just choose any small path and see where it goes. It is a real adventure! I often hear animals moving, but I have never felt afraid.
Noah
Some people like to visit the woods in the morning, but my favorite time is the late afternoon. I usually go with my grandfather. We walk slowly and talk about our day. For me, standing at the bottom of the huge, old trees and watching their high branches touch the sky makes me feel completely peaceful. My granddad loves to stop and smell the wild flowers, but I am more interested in the beautiful views. We don’t bring cameras; we just use our eyes to remember the wonderful journey.
