Open-Ear Earbuds

Tom

I walk next to a busy road on my way to school. I love my new open-ear earbuds because they don’t go inside my ear. I can easily hear cars coming, which helps me stay out of danger. I usually play novels on my mobile phone while I walk. It’s really fun to listen to actors speaking the words! I don’t really use them to call my mates, and I definitely have to give them battery power every single night, but they are perfect for my daily journey.

Lisa

Some people listen to stories on their walks, but I prefer loud pop music! I usually walk in a quiet place away from the city, so I don’t worry much about traffic. For me, the best thing is that I can speak to my mates without taking the earbuds off. I can hear the music and their voices at the same time! Also, normal earphones used to give me a headache. These are so light that they never hurt, even after wearing them for a whole afternoon.

Ben

I got these open-ear earbuds as a present from my mum and dad when I turned fifteen. At first, they felt a bit strange, but now I love them. I always walk through the big park behind my house. With these, I can enjoy my favourite bands, but I can also hear the birds singing and the wind in the trees. Another great thing is the power. It lasts for days and days, so I don’t have to plug them in very often!

Upgrading to a Mini Desktop

Tom

I build large websites, so I need a fast machine. I changed to a mini desktop last month. The price was very high, but it is much faster than my old laptop. I only have a tiny table in my bedroom, so this little machine is perfect because it leaves room for my keyboard and coffee. I often fly to other countries for holidays, but I always leave this computer at home. When I have free time, I like relaxing, but I never play games on it.

Sarah

My job is creating software for smartphones, which needs a really strong computer. I bought a mini desktop because it was actually quite cheap. My old screen was broken, so I had to purchase another display to plug into the new machine. The best thing is how light it is. I usually work in different cafes or visit my team in other cities. I just put the PC in my backpack and carry it everywhere. I don’t use it for games, though.

Mike

I write software for banks, and these programs are very heavy. I didn’t know which PC to buy, but my colleague told me this mini desktop was the best, so I ordered one online. He was right! I have a huge desk, so space isn’t a problem for me. It also came with a free monitor, which was great. The computer is so powerful that at the end of the day, I can run the newest PC games on it without any problems.

Saving Up for a Drawing Tablet

Oliver

I love drawing, so I really wanted a digital tablet. Putting my pocket money away every week wasn’t easy. I really wanted to spend it on video games, and waiting to get enough cash felt like it took forever! I didn’t hide my money; I just left it on my desk. Luckily, I didn’t need to save for the full amount. Last week, the computer shop had a big winter event, and the tablet cost much less than before. I bought it immediately! Now I draw every day.

Chloe

My new drawing tablet is amazing. It isn’t too heavy, and the display is big enough to make sketching really comfortable. I got it quite quickly, so I didn’t mind waiting. I receive a little pocket money each week, but I wanted to grow my savings faster. I asked my parents if I could wash their car and clean the windows for some extra coins. Also, my uncle visited for my birthday and handed me an envelope with cash inside. That helped me buy it without waiting for a sale!

Finn

I am very proud of myself because I bought my tablet all by myself. My parents told me to do daily tasks at home for cash, but I was too busy with school. Instead, I changed my habits. I usually buy chocolate and ice cream after class, but I stopped doing that completely. Every time I got my pocket money, I immediately put the notes inside a locked wooden box under my bed. I knew if I carried it in my bag, I would buy something. The tablet is a bit small, but it works perfectly.
