Choosing Basic T-Shirts over Big Logos

Mark

I used to buy clothes with huge pictures on the front, but not anymore. Now, I only buy dark, solid colours. I never have to think about what to put on in the morning. A grey or black top always looks great with any jeans or shorts I own. Also, because there are no crazy words on them, my manager lets me wear them in the office. Some people order them on the web, but I prefer going to actual shops to choose them. I don’t mind spending a lot of cash on them because they are so useful for my daily life.

Lisa

For me, a plain white or blue t-shirt is the best thing you can own. I really hate doing free marketing for big clothing companies by walking around with their giant words on my chest! Also, fashion changes so fast. Shirts with famous bands or jokes look old very quickly. But basic items never stop being popular, so you don’t need to throw them away after a few months. That is much better for the world. I can’t put them on at my job as a waitress, but they are perfect for my weekend trips. Sometimes they aren’t very soft, but I still love them!

Tom

I only wear basic t-shirts now because they are amazing for keeping money in your pocket. You save a lot of cash because they aren’t from famous fashion companies. Also, without heavy plastic printing on the front, the cotton material is much more comfortable to wear all day. I usually use my phone to get boxes of five or six at once, directly to my house. It is so fast! My sister tells me it’s hard to make plain colours look cool with my trousers, but I don’t care. I just want to feel relaxed when I hang out with my friends.

Graduation Outfits

Leo

I usually wear black or grey, so I surprised my friends when I chose a bright blue suit for graduation. It looks great! I went to a large department store in town with my sister. My mum wanted to come, but she was working. The jacket was perfect, but the trousers were too long. A woman at the shop cut the bottom of them for me so they fit better. The whole thing wasn’t very expensive, which was lucky because I paid for it myself.

Sam

I hate going to busy clothes shops, so I used my laptop to look for a graduation outfit. My dad sat with me and we found a fantastic grey suit. When it arrived in the post, it fitted me perfectly without needing any changes. It wasn’t cheap, but it wasn’t the most expensive one either. I’m going to my cousin’s wedding next month, and this suit will be perfect for that party, too. I usually wear dark colours, just like this one.

Eli

Finding a suit for graduation was really hard. I went to five different shops because I am very tall, and everything was too small for me. Finally, I found a lovely black jacket and trousers. I didn’t buy it online because I needed to try it on first. I had to give the shop assistant all of the cash I saved from my part-time job, so my bank account is empty now! I don’t think I will ever wear these formal clothes again, though.

The Sold-Out Zara Jacket

Leo

I went to Zara with my older sister on Saturday. I wanted a new bright blue jacket. When we looked on the shelves, they only had very large ones. I felt so sad! A woman who works there came over to talk to us. She checked her computer and told me that more small sizes are arriving next week. My sister told me to look in another store, but I really love this one. So, I will go back in seven days to get it. I didn’t buy anything else today.

Sam

I saw a fantastic red winter jacket at Zara, but my size was missing. I didn’t ask anyone in the store for advice because it was too busy. When I got home, I opened my laptop to look at their website. I hoped they had my size there, but sadly, it was completely gone! I was very disappointed and knew I couldn’t get it in the future either. Because I still needed winter clothes, I chose a thick sweater instead and paid for that. I’m happy with it now.

Max

I needed a new jacket for a party. I really don’t like bright clothes, so I wanted to find a black or dark brown one. I drove to the big Zara in the city centre alone, but they only had extra-small ones. Then, I took the bus to two other shopping centres in town, but the answer was the same everywhere! I was so tired. My mum said I should order it on my phone, but I hate doing that. I went home with empty hands.
