Train Ride Snacks
Oliver
When I go on a long rail journey, I never change what I put in my bag for the trip. I always pack the exact same things. I love having something sweet to eat, so I usually spend the evening before preparing some chocolate biscuits in my oven. They taste much better than the ones from the shops! I don’t like buying cold juice or water. Instead, I boil some water and take a large cup of tea in my bag to keep out the cold. It stays nice and hot for hours.
Chloe
I don’t really know how to bake, so I always get my snacks from the supermarket the day before my journey. I try to choose things that will help me stay fit, like fresh apples, carrots, and a bit of cheese. I don’t take a hot drink with me because it might spill in my bag. I usually travel with my younger sister to visit our grandparents. She gets hungry very quickly on trains, so I always let her have half of everything I pack.
Daniel
I am usually too busy to prepare food at home, so I get my snacks from the little shops at the station five minutes before I find my seat. I like to buy a big bag of crisps and some chocolate bars. I don’t usually share them with anybody because I travel alone! I also buy a small bottle of water, but I only take a few sips. I avoid having lots of liquids because I hate using the washrooms on the train. They are never very nice!

Buying a New Holiday Camera
Dan
I am going on a walking holiday in the mountains next week. I needed something that can fit perfectly in my jacket, without making me tired. My older brother takes amazing photos, so I asked him what I should buy. He told me to get this model. It wasn’t cheap at all, but the pictures are brilliant! I plan to visit the beach for a day, but I’ll definitely leave this in my hotel room when I go in the sea. I usually just take photos when the sun goes down.
Sophie
I am travelling to Spain soon! I love the ocean, so my main goal was to find something I can use under the waves to film the fish. The shop worker showed me a few options. I was worried about the price, but then I saw a special offer online and saved fifty pounds! It is my first time having a machine that comes straight from the factory. It has so many buttons, so I spent all weekend reading the instructions to see how everything works.
Tom
We are going on a city break to Rome. Instead of getting something straight from a shop, I got my camera from a man on the internet. It is a bit older, but it still works perfectly. The best thing is how simple it is. I didn’t even look at a manual, I just turned it on and started clicking! It is quite big, so I have to carry it in a heavy backpack. I love taking pictures late in the evening, and this camera catches the city lights beautifully without the sun.

Planning Holidays with Travel Apps
Minh
I love exploring cities on vacation. My favorite app is fantastic because it works even when I don’t have any phone data or Wi-Fi. It gives me excellent digital maps so I can walk around new streets easily without getting lost. I always look at it to find old historical buildings. It was very simple to use right from the start. However, I never use it to look for food because I prefer asking local people where to go. I love being outside, so I walk around all day even if the weather turns bad.
Trang
In the beginning, I was confused by this travel app because there were too many buttons, but now I use it every day. I always open it online when I am relaxing at the hotel. It is wonderful because it helps me buy tickets for museums and parks that do not cost a lot of money. I also like that I can click one button to send my daily plans to my parents and friends at home so they know what I am doing. I usually take a taxi to see sights, so I don’t need to look at maps.
Tuấn
I use a travel app to plan my time carefully when I travel. My favorite feature is the weather guide. It tells me if it will rain, so I can plan indoor activities instead of going to the park. I keep my schedule private because I don’t like sharing things online. The app also tells me about excellent restaurants close to me, which is great when I am hungry after a long day. Sights and museum tickets can be expensive, but the app helps me find things that are free.
